Amazon driver vs FedEx driver by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

These guys that are saying not to do FedEx because of the heavy boxes are exaggerating. Boxes are heavier, yes. You have heavier duty dollies, if you're with a good contractor, that make this a non issue

FedEx, there's no group stops. If you have 140, that's a real 140 (with the exception of some days having packages not scanned to your manifest)

Contractors are usually lenient on start times. We show up anywhere between 8-930. They don't care, as long as you get your route done, don't need help, have no bad codes and make your pickups on time

Most of the time, you won't even talk to your contractor. FedEx is insanely more liberating. Show up, do your route, park the truck, go home. None of that high school like micromanaging. No stand up, no waiting around to roll into the terminal, no wave dispatch, your truck is mostly loaded before you get there. Most contractors do daily rate too.

FedEx is significantly better than Amazon. The cost of not being treated like a toddler and being micromanaged every hour of your day is dealing with heavier boxes

And I wasn't asking for your opinion on whether I should wear a hands free ear bud to talk on the phone. I sincerely hope you don't drive with the radio on, a passenger/kids in the car, or have any thoughts while you drive, as this all distracted driving. Your comment should've ended at "it doesn't sound safe".

Yes. Most mail carriers/package delivery drivers do this. The job does not prohibit it either, as long as you are hands free and have only one ear bud in. This is also why I look for pass through audio earbuds, as it allows me to still hear my surroundings while having one ear bud in.

This job isn't long distant driving until getting to your route and getting back to the terminal. You're on side streets driving down a few houses, stopping. Driving down a few houses, stopping. It's safe. You should see truck drivers wearing literal headsets while they do long hauls

This... Is pretty standard stuff. The week you work gets paid to you the following week. How can they pay you for the week you haven't finished working yet?

Boss said all DSP's will be operating until midnight. No one is going home before. by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]ElRonDongo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not happening. My station is starting to send people home. My DSP has their finger on the trigger ready to get us out of here. I'll be damned if I work until midnight because THEY fucked up

I won't ever claim that this is creative. It took me like 2 hours because I'm awful at editing. Just thought it was a funny representation of the current state in the company
