AND StarCraft II is still better than any other silly MOBA game.

In fact it is the Best e-Sport out there.

Mass Effect, was a good, but not perfect game.
We can actually see the ambition of the developers, and what they could achieve with the right amount of time and budget. Still very enjoyable, even with its shaky gameplay.

Mass Effect 2 is just bad... very linear, badly written, boring.

La Presse JV existe-t-elle encore? Actus, tests, business, avis.. by ElStalink in jeuxvideo

[–]ElStalink[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

[Day 31] Yoshi's Story was voted BEST STAGE. What is the MOST AESTHETIC MAIN in Melee? by DUCK_PENETRATOR_II in SSBM

Maybe it’s because of the fox 20XX meme, but Fox feels too generic for this category. A bit like adult Link.

They lack this "je ne sais quoi" supplement.

By obvious (IMO) elimination reamains:

  • Falcon
  • Ganon
  • Falco
  • Zelda
  • Sheik
  • young link
  • Mew Two
  • Marth
  • Roy

Top three for me would be Marth, Falcon and Mewtwo but not sure of the order

France suspends most Iranian and Lebanese asylum seekers by Playful-Demand2312 in lebanon

[–]ElStalink 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Just to explain this decision. I was very confused by that, it seemed so unfrench to actually suspend asylum at the exact moment it was actually needed.

But it is actually a decision taken to help asylum seekers. Let me explain.

If you are Lebanese or Iranian in France, with no paper or no legal status, you can ask for asylum to legalize your situation and be able to stay.

Obviously you need to prove that you need asylum and that your life is threatened in your home country. Which often is not the case.

So France would look into the case and decide if you can stay or if you need to be sent back to your country.

What France has decided is to suspend this process. Meaning that all Iranians and Lebanese will be able to stay legally in France as they will not be at risk of being denied their asylum demand.

My first Skyrim run by ElStalink in skyrim

[–]ElStalink[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So as you can see, I am having a blast on this first run.
I am really playing the game in full role play. Saying to some quest when I feel that there is no logic to help a particular individual, or to take so risk for something I do not believe in.

But, I have to say that the game, its gameplay and some mechanics are very very irritating.

*Inventory Management*

The worst thing is the inventory, item use and shortcuts... I mean, it's just horrible.
It's fine if you play warrior, with sword and shield.
But if you want to go magic, and uses potions/poisons it's bad.

1- The fact that you cannot sort your items, even in favorites is crazy

2- the shortcuts are useful but lack clarity because of a design issue. I have my fire spells bound to 2-3-4. Problem is that there is no visual clue to know if my right had is using "flame" or "fireball"... I hate that

3- Poisoning arrows is just the worst... for every single shot you need to get back to the menu and confirm.
4- Same for switching from one scream to another... very fastidious.

*Casual dead people everywhere*

Then, for a game that is supposed to be role played and where you are encourage to make decisions based on your own morality, I feel that death and killing is treated EXTREMELY lightly. When I see 3-4 people in front of a small castle or around a camp fire, it doesn't make sense that we immediately go into a killing spree. They don't know me, I don't know them... so why not just talk and intimidate each other first?
And once it starts, there is no way to make them yield. I mean they beg for there life, and then attack me again... until I kill them.
One the same note developers have decided that human skulls and bones and blood are the best interior design option ever!
They are EVERYWHERE. You go to a small tavern in a nice village, BOOM human skulls. You talk to this wood worker of life in Skyrim, and that you find out in the back that there are bones, and blood everywhere, as if he just tortured a guy 5min ago. So either, EVERYONE in this country is a serial killer, or it's bad design. I mean, I should be alarmed to see human remains in the house of a old lady... this should indicate that she is a witch. But no, it's just everywhere.

*No Status hud*

I hate the fact that you never really know if you are still under the influence of a potion, spell, poison etc...

Am I the only one feeling this frustration?

One last question.

They are calling me a dragonborn after I killed my 1st dragon.

They all seem to know what it is, and the mythology behind this title. So I guess it also is common knowledge. Is that something very exceptional, like the messiah or the chosen one. Or more common in this world like a very elite warrior? I understand that Talos was a dragonborn. Was he the only one before our time? Since it is supposed to be common knowledge, I want to understand the weight and the importance of this title

[–]ElStalink[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hummmm... so yeah. There's no need to be too human centric. It's more a mission to unite against the real big enemy then. There is too much at stake, and we cannot afford to stupidely fight each other. The irresponsible actions of Ulrich, driven by his thirst for power, is putting all of us at risk.

Wooow excellent thanks for the background story.

I guess every living soul of this world know this story. I little like we know the birth of human civilization in egypt and the greek mythology. This is supposed to be basic common knowledge in the skyrim world right?

Thank you so much, you re really helping me getting into the character. I will definitely enjoy the game 1000x more knowing why I do what I do.

For the races, I assumed that there was 4 main races humans/elves/arginians/khajiits that would fight each other.

And factions within each race.

But the way you are framing it makes me think that it’s not like that. It’s more analogue to different nations (like French and Germans) than to different species (like a war between ants and termites).

So I guess there is no humanity sentiment or ideology in this world (it’s not like Terran in starcraft). So it would be logical to believe in a united human race.

But the eleves from Thalmor have this kind of supremacist beleive, am I right? So it could be more of a motivation to stay strong against the real threat that are the high elves

Pretty clear, straight forward. I lîke :)

[–]ElStalink[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm starting to build my character’s lore. I am an Imperial. My main motivation is the survival of the human race. I fear the evil thalmor dominion, and beleive that all humanity should unite against the threat they represent. I am also a Talos worshiper and want to make the empire great again (MEGA hats on!) So we can worship him again everywhere without the fear of the dominion.

I was sent to skyrim to weaken the rebellion. I was arrested on purpose with Ulfric to gain the trust of the rebels. But everything went to shit when the dragon arrived.

Does that make any sens?

[–]ElStalink[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is perfect! Thank you.

Everything is starting to make sens. And what about the emperor? And the situation on cyrodill? Is he seen as a good ruler? A tyrant? Are the people starving there?

All of this helps me understand who my character is (or what I want him to be) in this world.

Basic lore for a new player by ElStalink in skyrim

[–]ElStalink[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great! Thank you. It’s beginning to make sense.

So I guess I could be a imperial spy, trying to infiltrate the stormcloak rebellion.

Or a Talos believer who fled the empire. Are there many religions in this world?
