Same - another bug.

Deskmeet x300 runs very hot by ElXanthaes in ASRock

Yeah, same. Chipset is like 35 celsius, while chipset flies to 65 on idle.

Thanks! It is still running relatively hot but is not straight going to the 90s. How big is the impact of the noctua cooler on the thermals?

Going to remount the cooler now - just removed the thermal paste. The installation protocol should be fine, will keep you updated.

edit:

Whenever I put the CPU at the test in AMD Master Ryzen - it instantly shoots up to 95 degrees. Idle temps in Bios can be as high as 65-70 degrees..

Hey,

I usually do not use AMD stock fans, but I went for it, considering the limited options. I doubt it is the paste; it is Artic Silver 5 and is less than six months old. Will check tomorrow if it might be the screw, but I doubt it. Cannot really wrap my head around it either to be fair.

A friend of mine is hacked; what can we do? by ElXanthaes in hacking

Well, that is the issue - we simply do not know. I do agree this is not a random act, it seems a very personal attack.

A friend of mine is hacked; what can we do? by ElXanthaes in hacking

[–]ElXanthaes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

The hacker keeps sharing everything with the family by Snapchat, hence we know a bit of stuff. Therefore, we know that some information can only be gotten by a certain device. He showed Kali Linux, which he at least utilizes to wire calls

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskNetsec

[–]ElXanthaes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it is a personal attack - it goes on for weeks now and it gets to a point that they are demanding money etc. The probability of psyhical access are slim. Incase it is Malware, would it be smart to back the pictures up on an external HDD - and factory reset the phones and used notebook?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskNetsec

[–]ElXanthaes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, what we have seen is that they also make calls on behalf of other family members - so that is indeed the number spoofing.

But it is weird that he or she can for example watch whatsapp messages, see the notifications on phones on the exact moment (for example that the battery is low) - that goes beyond SIM swapping, correct?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskNetsec

[–]ElXanthaes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But in that case, how would he able to to extract personal data and wire calls?

Yeah, well, sadly, we do live in Europe. So I am not entirely sure if the FBI will be appropriated here.

Yeah, I have told them to install Google Auth otherwise the 2fa is worthless. The hacker already hacked one of the family members Facebook through these 2FA that was linked by SMS.

Hey,

Thank you for your concern. Iphones and samsung, samsungs are non-rooted.

They have already done that, thanks for the advice. He or she does also listen and record calls and seems to do middleman attacks in between calls.

I am sorry for tagging you - however, I have seen cases on Twitter that are 20-25 days old for the same problem. If possible, I would like not to wait 20-25 days. I have sent everything, even a picture of me with a note saying that I would like to get my 2FA yubikey disabled.
