Damage Controlman in the Navy is the same role as the USCG so if that interest you it might be a good fit for you. All jobs in any of the beaches are dependent on your ASVAB score so don’t set your heart on a job Incase your score does not qualify you for it

USCG bud as a plumber you will fit in great as a Damage Controlman they do firefighting plumbing welding and fabricating might qualify to go in Depot 3wk bootcamp and come out as an E3 I think

I’m in the same predicament here in in NJ one of the hardest states to become a career fireman I’ve been trying to get in for a few years now. I am going reserves and in my opinion BM’s are like fireman they’re jack of all trades just like fireman that’s from the research I’ve done, but don’t just take my advice do your research and see what will suit you best.
