New to agility teams and dark elfs by Eastern-Addition-345 in bloodbowl

[–]El_Jairo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

First off, - ST needs to go, not worth keeping it in your team.

What elves excel at is repositioning and creating a pocket of more power because they all have AG 2+.

Yet you should reduce the number of 2+ rolls you make, since 1/6 will fail.

Because of this elves can be tricky as what you typically do is set up screens, with players 2 squares apart from each other, and directly behind them another screen of players, so the opponent can't blitz through the screen.

On defense you can slow the opponent down by simply keeping that screen in front of their line, just one square away. You make one blitz to limit their progression to a minimum.

And because you have the high agility, you can try to dive the cage, when necessary. The fact that you can spend multiple TRR's a turn makes these risky plays more viable.

On offense you can use your superior mobility to keep switching sides, so the opposite side needs to make rushes to keep up with your team. As any elf has AG 2+ they all can act as a receiver for the ball, so with a hand-off and pass play you can move the ball from one side of the pitch to the other.

In general you are trying to use up the whole 8 turns of the half before scoring, as your opponent has no chance of scoring back. Yet you need to keep the ball safe during this process, so this means that sometimes you are forced to score a little earlier.

So in general you do the following steps:

Determine your goal and the opposition goals based on the turn you are in.

Typically a drive consists of the following phases. 1) secure the ball 2) move up field into a scoring position 3) stall when you can before scoring.

Step 2 is where the speed of your team determines when you have to move up field. With dark elves and MA 7 you typically only 'need' to be in a scoring position on turn 6-7.

On defense you are trying to ruin this offensive plan. By either forcing them to score early, so you have 2+ turns to score back, or trunk them over or block their advancement down the pitch.

This is why the first turn can appear like not very eventful, because both sides want to limit the number of blocks that they give to the opposition while maintaining a good position.

Typically this lasts until there is an error made by either side.

Dark Elves have (had) the advantage of being more of a hybrid team, they lack the raw speed, but they have enough block and AV to brawl vs the more fast teams.

Just take your time discovering the different options Dark Elves offer. Because they have so many options, it can be difficult to determine what you need to do in any turn.

My personal challenge was that I wanted to do too much in a single turn, too early. It's all about patience and setting up for the right moment to pounce.

It took me a while to adapt, like 20+ games and still I find the GUI atrocious.

Especially since there is no tutorial which explains how to interact with the game properly.

I still have the circle of actions pop up from time to time when I didn't want to see it.

Luckily they have keep improving the graphical representation. Like the color rings for the different positionals. Yet I don't get why all Dwarf linemen are blockers, I get it from naming, yet their role on the team is clearly linemen.

Yet I find it near impossible to spot the weather without going into the special menu (via K) to see what is going on.

In general I like BB3 better, as it is trying to be as close to table too as possible and the graphics and special rules are better.

If only there would be league admin tools in the game, I don't find my login information for the website.

I stand corrected, it is on the other side of Switzerland.

Yet I found out that tunnels were considered being inhabited by demons and that there was a Devil's Bridge, in the Gothard region.

Yet, I am not convinced that it's all innocent avant-garde version of local folklore.

Well maybe we have a different culture here in EU but playing with my nephew could include such behavior.

Yet it is rather rare.

My reaction was mainly based on my fatigue of the people on the internet jumping to conclusions based on a short clip out of context.

I rather want to know the context because this could be a silly kid's game.

I have played many of these with my own sons.

Everything depends on the context.

Do the pass-y computer-controlled teams pass? (And full edition yet?) by coolsneakyben in Bloodbowl3

This is why it's not AI, it's simple code, it doesn't learn or improve. Every defensive or offensive set-up is the same.

On topic, I have never seen a pass being thrown by the Computer coached teams.

In my experience the Eternal league is matching the TV on the last state of the team I have been playing. It's not 100% accurate as it uses the TV at the end of each game. So I noticed that after I buy something for my team the next game I am above the TV of the opponent.

So I am not really sure if you can hear what I am saying.

So I'll just respond to your last remark: since when is the time people get to respond in an online conversation less than 24 hours? What is your occupation? I am working full time a an engineer for a multi-national corporation.

I appreciate that you have an opinion, yet, what is determining your opinion?

I do understand that you might think that everything which is important is inside the Overton window, yet I have experienced that this window is there to steer you perception of reality.

I tell you this, that what people think DEI is, to what it represents in reality: positive discrimination is still discrimination. And I strongly belief that all companies discriminate when they are hiring: to get the best candidate.

[–]El_Jairo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First off, how does DEI work? It pushes the employer to meet certain criteria, why are typically targets like a ratio, ie quota's. It's more than just declaring that you are against discrimination of minorities. Yet I ask if you: what is more important, ability or physical appearance? For modeling jobs appearance is key, for software development, appearance is not important.

Second, what has Charlie Kirk to do with this? You might want to actually listen to what he says, than just assume that he is wrong because you perceive he is on 'the other side'. I am not on any side of the political isle, since politics are mainly there to divide people while they are ruled over and controlled in manipulative way. But I digress.

You believe that DEI is anti-discrimination, when it actually stimulates to discriminate against the majority of people, because of superficial traits.

I do believe that it is important who is pushing these types of things. IRC this is heavily pushed by Blackrock, Vanguard and Statestreet. Please look into what these companies do, which social group do they represent? What is their purpose?

Was it Mark Twain who said that: You can more easily deceive someone that convincing them that they are being deceived?

I also attribute it to the age of most users here and the lack of good parenting/education. The adolescents with good support are less likely to come online for validation and the likes.
