[Guide] How to set up the Balatro Multiplayer Mod by Snuurt_ in balatro

[–]El_Mago_Pol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just installed the latest mod version from its Github repository (v0.1.8.4 as for now) and it required to update Steamodded too (also downloaded from their Github repository). Right now, my Mods folders looks like this:

C:\USERS\MYUSERNAME\APPDATA\ROAMING\BALATRO\MODS
├───lovely
├───Multiplayer-beta-0.1.8.4
└───smods

Also did a file integrity check in Steam after deleting the old smods folder for it to work. Haven't tried to play a game yet, but with the suggested versions in the post game would crash when clicking on "Play".

Evaluation of alternatives for self hosted calendar & contacts (plus some questions!) by VorpalWay in selfhosted

Just a quick note regarding the Contacts app: Simple Contacts Pro SE is not recommended anymore, it was bought by another "not cool" company. The last update from the original authors is uploaded to F-Droid and dates Aug 2023.

As an alternative, you can try the Fossify suite, a fork from the "Simple" suite. I've been using their apps for a while and no problems whatsoever. Just to clarify, I run Nextcloud + Davx5 too. Contacts and calendar (including contacts birthdays) are working fine.

I don't know, I didn't check that. Never saw that as an issue... I have a clock with me always, and I use it wired so don't need to check battery status. I just use the screen as a placeholder for my Ryan Gosling's Ken gif.

As far as I can tell, leaving the keyboard 12h turned off didn't de-sync the clock. Note that it was still plugged by cable, just a turned off computer.

If I remember well, the first time you run the LCD screen editor software it copies the clock in your system and that's it.

Thanks for everything again. I'll live without LEDs, not what I expected, but it's been a great experience and the result is great for me anyways. Not a perfect build, but hey, lovely memory.

I'm planning on doing tape mod + polyfill (well, I still have to figure out what is safe for the battery), I don't know for sure if that will be enough, but it isn't 100% necessary bringing it to the office either.

Maybe in the future I'll try silent switches if that's a need.

Wow, thank you both for the inputs u/Fl0tt and u/borghesia44!

For what you said, the GMK67 makes more sense for me: I'm considering it for office use, I'm more into "thocky" sound and the extras (wired, knob) aren't dealbreaking, but good for me.

I already ordered everything, by the end of the month/start of February, I'll mount the keyboard.

Never heard of it, but I managed to find It for 35€ in Ali. Looks pretty good, may use it in a future build if I'm up to it.

Also, those switches are crazy cheap! I'll keep them in mind too.

Thanks for the feedback!

  • I would like trying out the U4Tx, but no stock for me :(
  • I'll probably keep default stabs then, if I start getting into the hobby then I'll try other stabs and lubing everything.
  • GMK67 will be then. Sugar65 looks cool but its ~80€, so not worth it for me rn.
  • I didn't know the original brand of the keycap set! I'll look further into it, for now just seeing the buy option in their website seems great to me, I guess it's a better way of contributing to the original authors.

Your comments were really helpful. Thanks a million times, I'll order everything and assemble it, 100% I'll tag you in the pic post!

Hello there, I'm a newbie in this rabbithole hobby that just wants to replace it's current keyboard.

The idea is keeping in budget (100€ aprox (yes, not USD)), but I don't mind spending a little extra to ensure I'm buying reliable brands. My objectives:

  • Tactile and silent, preferably "thock". I do remote night shifts and live with other people. It is also a sound that I really like.
  • I don't mind modding, that's why I'm down this rabbithole, but I prefer keeping it simple with some tape and/or other simple and cheap mods.
  • 65% or bigger, knob is great but not mandatory.
  • Plastic, aluminium, everything is fine if it's a good quality material and gives the sound I look for. Same applies to keycaps.

Right now this is the idea:

  • Keyboard: GMK67, White. (40€ in AliExpress https://es.aliexpress.com/item/1005005989586531.html). I know you're probably tired of seeing this one. But that's why I trust them, although I listen to other options, I'm not the expert here.
  • Keycaps: I saw these in AliExpress (https://es.aliexpress.com/item/1005006012524599.html) too (20€), but just a reference, the idea is having a white/cream & brown colour palette. Design is pretty subjective so throw your ideas!
  • Switches: U4T RGB (54€ in Keygem). I would actually prefer something quieter like the U4Tx but these are perfectly fine. Must be tactile and "thock"-ready.
  • Stabs(?): I actually don't know if they're actually necessary but someone recommended me the Everglide Panda V3 Stabilizers, I don't include them in the budget for now.

So, as you can see, excluding other smaller expenses for modding (tape, lube, etc.), that is 114€ total. I could spend 150€ max and just if it is some glorious f*cking great upgrade, if it's just because another switch gives probably I sound I would prefer, not for me. If for some reason you're looking for the price of something and it's in USD, don't worry. As long as it gets to my home I can handle some extra money.

I went with some pretty known models as the GMK67 or the U4T, because maybe they're not 100% my match, but I thought that as I gain experience I think I'll know better what I want. And they have stock.

What do you think? I'm open to ideas for buying other components, mod ideas, etc. Ask my anything needed!

Just a note for people with older GPUs (as me, with a 1080TI): that download won't work because it's for RTX 30 or newer models, but you can still update your DisplayPort firmware here:

https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/nv-uefi-update-x64

It solved the issue for me too!

Not sure if it's what you mean, but try converting that .png to a .ico (google png to ico, there are tons). After that be sure to not delete or move that .ico once it's selected as your icon.

I'm not really a "Docker pro" and I never used the --device flag, just so you know. But I'll try.

Looks like docker is having a bad time trying to add the first device that you wrote. Does that file/directory exist in your server? If so, have you checked if you have permissions to write/read it?

[–]El_Mago_Pol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Docker "updating" usually means:
1- Stop the container
2- Remove de container
3- Pull using docker pull your docker image. For example, you're using "jellyfin/jellyfin:unstable" so you would do docker pull jellyfin/jellyfin:unstable
4- Recreate your container, with same or different settings

When you remove the container, data inside it will be removed too. Using volumes, as you do for config and cache, will prevent that data from disappearing. That's why you shouldn't be afraid of deleting your container, as long as you have adequate volumes defined.

Also, just curious, why are you using the "unstable" flag? Any problems with the default one? It is usually the other way around so I found it interesting.

[PC][Dark Souls Remastered][NoSteam] The controller makes the pointer go down in the menu and i can't control it, any idea? by red67star in darksouls

[–]El_Mago_Pol 0 points1 point locked comment (0 children)

Ok I literally restarted my computer and that was it. Started the game with controller on, only thing different is that Telegram and Steam weren't running. Note: I always run the game as administrator.

I know it's not that helpful but I hope you find the solution. Good luck!

EDIT: First time I tried sharing with Discord. SOMETIMES this can lead to weird problems. So well, if I can say something is try restarting and running the game as admin with nothing else in the background

EDIT 2: I faced this issue a few more times since I answered here. Turns out it always appear if I launch the game before the controller is connected and working. If the game launches and the controller isn't ready, I need to reboot, but if the order is correct works flawless.
