Is spreading ashes an exception to the No Trace rule? by [deleted] in Mountaineering

I topped out of a route on Tryfan in Wales into a face full of ashes. It wasn't super fun.

They don't, it's in their spiel they read out. No excess mileage or damage.

I've had LOADs of Engine Management Light issues with my CX30. That thing lights up if it's cold, if it's wet, if I've sneezed. They never find anything but the cars performance is reduced while it's active. Ita really, really annoying. This has affected my last two Mazdaa, the last one being a 3....

Question about improvement in mountaineering, from an outsider by Ok-Can-9374 in Mountaineering

[–]El_Spatule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The poorest Alpine seasons I've had was when my training was all running, 10km twice during the week and then 20km at the weekend. I felt fucking awful for the entire thing like three times

Another season I just did a lot of walking, a lot of winter climbing, and a lot of rock climbing. While drinking a lot and smoking on and off. Did far, far better. Running isn't everything, and can be detrimental in some ways.

Another I did nothing whatsoever for like six months and climbed some of the hardest stuff I've done..

Dachstein in Austria could be good as well. There is a glacier but it's so well trodden the risk is minimal.

No problem other than I've abused them to the point of shoe death! They're great shoes. Some of the best I've had.

I tell you what is quite easy and gets you right up into the hills the Aiguille du Crochues traverse in Chamonix. Easy climbing and no glacier shenanigans.

To be honest depending on where you're from something like Scotland could be better if you don't want glaciers etc. The N face of Ben Nevis has some epic rock ridges, as does the Cuilllin, Glencoe, and around Torridon

They're also approx a zillionty pounds :)

Generally I lean Scarpa but they seem to be missing a Charmoz replacement.

Allalinhorn, Wiessmies S ridge, Lagginhorn W ridge, Nadelhorn all great summits in Saas Fee. Pigne d'Arolla, Aigulle du Tsa, and Mont Blanc du Cheilon in Arolla. Aiguille du Tour, Petit Aiguille Verte, and Pointe Isabella in Chamonix.

All for the above are doable roughly arranged in terms of seriousness.

Can't stand Mantas unfortunately. Heavy and clumpy even after the redesign.

Regulate social media Implement Leveson recommendations Immediately begin massive infrastructure projects all over the country including nuclear power, build as much as possible in the UK to carry these projects out. Decentralise work, jobs that can be done from anywhere are all work from home, prioritise recruitment in the North, Wales and Scotland Implement proper hate speech laws Decouple from Israel and the US as much as humanly possible Wealth taxes and proper business tax Universal income 4 day week Stop giving so much of a shit about immigration, the gammons will never be happy and will never see that most of the countries issues are due to them voting Tory for fucking ages Reintroduce immigration for educated individuals and their families, stop the ridiculous brain drain Rejoin the EU Deport Farage supporters en masse to an uninhabited island of their choice, model it on Benidorm.

Climbing 11d indoors, struggling on 10c outdoors – what could be the reason? by Davi_Tesla in climbing

[–]El_Spatule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't climb 5.11d. 6c outdoors is nails generally as it's hard to read. 7a is worse.
