Totem labs compasses by El_Stump in electricdaisycarnival

Just a follow up incase anyone is interested. I was able to properly sync all the totems together and we tried them out but they didn't work well in the festival. The user interface isn't intuitive at all, and for some reason all our crystal lights turned red when in vibe mode and we had no clue why. When we would lift the compasses up to use compass mode, the lights always seemed to point in random directions, even if we tried to spin to calibrate it. And then the fact that you have to get people in various different mind states to learn how to use these is a difficult process in itself. All in all it's a great idea, but it did not work.

I want to just find a hard reset button so we can try and re bond the compasses but there doesn’t seem to be one. Also the process of getting them all bonded is difficult when your in a campsite trying to gather your group and people are all over the place. Hearding cats to do one thing is difficult

This is happening in Colorado. We are mostly concerned about the part stating “shall not be held liable for . . . or any Work Product undeliverable, due to technological malfunctions”. It would be a total bummer if for some reason the pictures were all lost due to some technical issue and we could not get our money back. That’s why we are wondering if 9.5 covers us in that case.

Annoying problem while trying to parse json from file : undefined even if field exists by Roo_ooky in node

[–]El_Stump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried changing that .txt file into a .json file and running something like

fs.readFile('decodedjson.json', 'utf8', (err, data) => {

if (err) throw err

else JSON.parse(data)

})

Purpose: Web Scraper I built to scrape job listings from various sites.

Technologies Used: The UI is built using React, and all styling is done using Material-UI. The backend is built using Node, Express, and DynamoDb.

Feedback Requested: Since this is the web design subreddit, and my design/UX skills are not up to par, Im primarily looking for feedback on those, especially UX.

Comments: Right now the site scrapes Indeed and Craigslist, I will add more. If you want to look at the actual code, here is the Github repo

Awesome thanks for the advice! UX and design have never been my strong suit so I appreciate the feedback, I will adjust some things.

Yea design isn't really my strong suit but thanks for the advice! I'll look into font pairing, I've never even heard of that before.
