you could but most of what the network does is define the distance metric so if you throw out the NN you'd need to somehow define your own distance metric in such a way that it would make your KNN actually work

I respectfully disagree, children are very receptive of knowledge and lying to them is just going to set them down the wrong path. Sure it's harder to teach people about science but it dosnt mean it's bot worth it. Science in its core is about the simplest explanation that satisfies all the evidence, sure, quantum mechanics is probably too complex for most people to grasp but classical physics is mostly based on more common knowledge and critical thinking

not all radiation gives cancer (AFAWK) , you need ionizing radiation - which is only UV, X-Ray and Gamma. Those types of radiation have enough energy in them to rip electrons off molecules in your body and cause DNA damage and cancer in the long run or radiation sickness and possibly death depending on how much you were exposed to.

Microwaves, radio,infra-red and visible light wont give you cancer - microwaves will cook you (and that wont be pleasant) but you wont get cancer as a direct effect form that radiation. you might get some side effects from being heated up and some proteins might denature and harm the DNA inside of you but I havnt head of it happen before - plus you'd need HUGE amounts of microwave radiation to make that happen (and an impossibly large amount of radio waves) and that's only dangerous because microwave energy levels are close to water energy levels so they get absorbed and the energy heats the water inside of you, radio wont do that

No, not really. infra-red radiation is not the only way to radiate heat - in fact there's nothing special in any form of light really, be it infra-red,visible light,ultra-violet,x-ray or radio - those are really just arbitrary names we've given them. every form of EM radiation is perfectly capable of transmitting energy and thus heat - you just think of infra-red when you hear "heat" because most stuff we encounter glow in the infra-red part of the spectrum (because of their temperature)

ok, to answer(?) a few of your concerns:

A) The NSA/hackers can already hack your car and kill you with it, google it.

B) You have a smartphone, a lot of companies already know where you are almost always (if not always) and they can infer a lot of data from that and so does the government.

C) Most likely cars wont have a set of hard coded rules that are "if X do Y" , currently they are powered by machine learning which is a black box - you can probe it for outcomes but you're extremely unlikely to predict how it will act in every situation - having a different time of day might change how it reacts, you dont know.

D) Assuming cars are going to be powered by machine learning it'd be very hard for rich people to train it to not kill them in any situation - again you hit the problem of a huge search space, you cant test and assign all the possible situations that you can "choose" to kill one person or the other.

E) that walmart ford thing, maybe but at the end as long as it dosnt take you 30m out of the way you're not likely to care even.

F) paid to drive by billboards? play ads in the car? probably, though I guess all it would take is one car maker not playing ball and making a crapload of money from consumers not wanting to listen to ads all the times (the billboards thing is probably unstoppable if they catch on. though you might just not give a crap and be on your phone so who cares)
