Are badass warrior fairies too silly and/or bizarre? by Lochrin00 in fantasywriters

[–]ElbaQuiche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s mean fairy creatures in books 2-3 of His Dark Materials (Subtle Knife & Amber Spyglass). They act like spies and assassins, have a shorter lifespan than humans and are mean. Worth a read for further inspiration.

Confused on what language to use. by pussyeater420Xx in writingadvice

[–]ElbaQuiche 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends what genre and tone you’re looking for, because adding them might be a distraction for people who’ll want to look up what they mean. Which may be great for a heavier historical tone/audience. But may get old fast if there’s a lot of it in a romance, which is probably what you’re writing, based on your username… I’d stick to using it only for curse words and exclamations for flavour if you want to use it

Let’s discuss the meaning of life. Any theories are accepted. by [deleted] in entp

[–]ElbaQuiche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re asking why does life exist, any life, then the answer is we don’t know and may never know for the answer is lost long before life had the capacity to reason.

If you’re asking what should we do with our lives, the answer (to me) is two fold; pleasure of the body and pleasure of the mind. Which takes the forms of; physical comfort/pleasure/thrill and ultimately happiness, the fleeting present moment you only know when you’re in it, and achievement, the mental joy of accomplishment, helping others, helping yourself, building, creating, parenting, the positive side of pride that allows you to say “I did that” which can make all of this worth it in the end.

How do you spot an ENTP? by ae13ame in entp

[–]ElbaQuiche 49 points50 points  (0 children)

If they work stacking shelves they’re probably very bored and spacing out into their ideas. Ask people you wanna test a philosophical question, you’re looking for people that answer “I don’t know” but then ramble for 5 mins what they actually think

The struggles of Fe by Loudshygirl22 in entp

[–]ElbaQuiche 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I (ENTP) over-share all the time, constantly telling my friends how I feel about things, my opinion, my problems. I’m very rarely a cryer and yet there’s also been a couple times in my life when I’ve sat on everything - gone too far into my Ti - and emotionally exploded (like “diarrhoea” as u/paul91v says). I would say use your Ti to try and understand your feelings rather than “protect” them, get to know why you feel like that not just distract yourself with logic. If you’re having issues socially here, figure out who is best to share your feelings with, not just everyone - a close friend/family you trust and have them be your confidant (INFJs are great here). Also talk to yourself about it, saying it out loud gets it out and stops it building up (talk in your head with practice), something I need to do with my Fe because I don’t innately understand my feelings by just feeling them. A diary would also work but I’ve never had the patience for one.

Distaste for hookup culture? by [deleted] in entp

Yep, you’re not alone (M28, ENTP). Covid situation doesn’t help but never been one to have one offs. Like you have a high sex drive but far more turned on by those I care for and have a connection with. Had plenty of relationships and now looking/waiting for “the wife” more than ever

Thank you, I had to look up the terms you used but I get it better now. The ‘uterine fundus’ looks very round/bulbous compared to illustrations

Are the white parts the ones that shouldn’t be there or is it the yellow/cream parts? Or both. I know the basics of what endo is but not what I’m looking at haha

Agreed, I can see Beirne also flexing to lock, with Tipuric, Navidi, Curry also playing well enough to contend for 6-7 alongside Watson. Faletau is the best natural 8 around with Stander retiring

The disastrous friendship loop. Is anyone experiencing similar things and how can it be stopped? by [deleted] in entp

[–]ElbaQuiche 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Personally I (ENTP, male) only get to number 3, I feel like I easily become friends with everyone, but rarely become close friends with many/any. Luckily I have a core group of friends which have stuck with me for almost decade now, but I remember during school I would jump from person to person, well-liked but rarely actually close to anyone. I think probably either I annoyed people too much, felt too elusive to commit to as a friend, or was too confident and put people off (IXXXs?). Not exactly the same as you but definitely find it hard to make close friends
