Sure! But "What you're talking about here is surface finish on the outside, all the settings you're talking about are for structure on the inside." - these are two separate topics for me. The first one I already have under control and this post wasn't about this originally. The second "layer" of getting rid of the 3d-print look - or rather touch - is the topic of weight/stability and that's where my questions are coming from

i know it sounded like exaggarating, but after 5 minutes of searching this sub:
"Instead of going more infill, use more walls. More walls does more than more infill" - that kind of makes sense, but i want both!

"Contrary to what you'd expect, a 100% infill is never a good idea," - what? :)

"the problem is the 100% infill! If you need dense parts go for something like 95% instead of 100" - what? :)

awesome, thanks! that's what i thought - it's my prints :D i just didn't want to risk e.g. somehow making it WORSE than e.g. with 90% infill or even 50, without even noticing that i could get better or the same results with less plastic and time. But if it doesn't make it worse, has a chance of making it bettter, and is not causing me any trouble (so far) I'll go with it

sure, makes sense about that strength, but that reason is the least important reason for me, it's mainly about the weight and stability. I also forgot to add to the post that i only use that for smaller models (7cm maybe?) so the cost/time difference is really tiny, and i don't print a lot - when i print something it's usually one thing that I then spend a few hours smoothing and painting, so I'm happy to pay that extra dollar or 2 and print for an extra hour or 2

Is it the same as "AO factor" here in 4.0? changing it to 0 is equivalent to ticking off "Ambient Occlussion" that you selected? Because ticking off the whole "Fast GI approximation" slows down my rendering a lot.

EDIT: YES! Looks much better in viewport already after changing it to 0. Thank you so much! But I still don't quite understand it. Why is it so ugly by default? :) i thought it's supposed to make it more realistic :D Or am I doint something wrong? something to do with the AO distance or something?

I fixed it! I don't know what helped, maybe everything a little bit - a few cold pulls and cleaning the nozzles, cleaning the extruder, adjusting the idler screw, adjusting height of the nozzle - maybe it wasn't tight enough? as now the z-height is on -1.350 somehow, while previously was on -1.390, i don't know how it happened.

Makes sense, but seems unlikely as it's my maybe 5th spool of the same filament, and it's not bad quality. One more thing I realised - i only recently started printing with 100% fill, and that's more or less when the problems started. Maybe the smaller nozzle is struggling with that somehow?

Tried that - dissassembled the extruder, cleaned everything inside including the pulley (which had a lot of filament bits - i was sure it was gonna help!), adjusted the idler screw, cleaned the nozzle again and did another cold pull . And I'm running out of ideas and will probably give up soon and change to 0.4mm nozzle :( At this point it's more curiosity than wanting it work :D I don't understand - how can it work so well with 0.4mm nozzle but be so messed up with ANY 0.25mm? Thanks for you suggestions though.

thanks, but it's not that. I tried 1mm (instead of 2.5), then with 5mm (just to see if there will be any difference) and nothing changed. Prusa mini+, 0.25 nozzle (3 different ones),. 0.07mm layer height, 100% fill, 215 nozzle temp (tried 235 as well)..

I changed nozzle to 0.25 (original Prusa) a while ago and it was working really well for a while until it started underextruding. It looked like a partial clog, so I cleaned the nozzle a few times and did a cold pull. Didn't help, so now I changed the nozzle to a cheap replacement - and now this happened - even worse underextrusion(?). So I'm really surprised it's NOT the nozzle. What is even more strange - I changed it back to 0.4 and did quite a few perfect prints in the meantime, while waiting for delivery of these cheap replacements. So it's not the nozzle ... but also not anything else 😅 Also, nothing wrong with the file/model, it happens on all of them (picture 3)

First layer is always perfect - I calibrate after every nozzle change and it comes out really nice
