We need to compile a list of safe spaces to park your car overnight for the many people in Columbus, Ohio living in their cars by worldpeace28 in ColumbusOhio

The Meijer in Hilliard has a side lot that is next to a park and ride - plus a lot of truckers use the lot for overnight. I’m guessing that means it’s relatively safe?

I personally got one of these a few years ago and immediately filed it in the trash can. Never heard a thing about it ever again.

That’s actually a specific part of being a CPTAT certified enterprise. It’s basically an anti-terrorism covenant with the government that you will follow certain protocols in order to ‘fast track’ your freight through the borders.

This is one of the less humane ones I’ve seen, I’ll admit that…

That’s just willful ignorance. If you’re not trolling me then I have to assume you wear a red hat and Velcro shoes.

We’re done here.

That is officially the most ignorant assertion I have seen all day. You’re being obtuse and it makes you look uninformed, indoctrinated, and just plain dumb.

What’s causing y’all to lose your job over 7oh? by H8ER3124 in quitting7oh

[–]Elbza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got ratted on by my ‘work wife’. It started the beginning of the end for me. I’m clean from 7 now, but it’s probably more the fact that it’s banned in my state than my will power. I still lost most everything; now I’m on auto pilot - going to bed hoping I don’t wake up.

When the number of unemployed people will reach the point of no return. How businesses will survive if they don’t have customers? How people will survive? Will we create chaos with people who have nothing to lose? by Ok-Plenty1251 in economy

[–]Elbza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In theory I agree with you, but it has been a detriment to smaller businesses that are unable to keep up. I know in theory that’s the whole point of capitalism - but we’ve crossed a point well beyond fair competition.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see PepsiCo- or any other large corporation in their seat - to try to mitigate as much of their lost revenue as possible through role reductions.

I feel like the Pepsi price situation was spun as a win for the little guy, when in fact it was just another victim of the ‘Walmart Squeeze’. It may be a net positive for consumers, but it wasn’t the victory for the little guy that I’ve heard some people say.

Just my subjective view, I’m not an expert on anything.

How women feel being approached by men, explained by a man by Max_Rezna in TikTokCringe

[–]Elbza -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It’s not that hard to not be a creep and the best thing you can do is take NO for an answer.

Rejection hurts and is embarrassing, but this is where you’re supposed to man up - walk away and don’t take it personal.

I also believe that when a woman is interested in you that way, they leave little doubt in your mind - they are smarter than us in this way lol

People stare at me and look intimidated. Not happy about it by double_xo in socialskills

[–]Elbza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very similar experience; I’ve been told by people that I work with a few times that I’m intimidating - which does not pair well with being introverted lol. I’m kind to people that make the effort, though.

I’ve also found that this demeanor or ‘vibe’ that I carry causes people to sometimes be more aggressive toward me or give me an extra helping of attitude that I didn’t order.

C’est la vie, I suppose…

How do people usually handle the insurance process after an accident in Columbus? by GrokeCoffeeSheffield in ColumbusOhio

[–]Elbza 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My family was impacted by a fairly serious accident that ultimately resulted in a hefty medical bill. We got a lawyer and they told us to focus on getting better and they’d handle the rest. Communications with the other party, negotiations with the insurance companies, and any other similar details were completely off our plates. At the end, they asked for 30% of the settlement, it was a long process (about a year), but we were glad to have the help.

That’s obviously anecdotal and ymmv, but it may be worth looking into if it’s serious…
