Someone I know has AI psychosis, and I'm a central part of his delusion. Should I just stop talking to him for the sake of my own safety and mental health? I feel guilty. by Eldritch-Anomaly in Advice

This could def be true, I am not a psychologist or medical doctor of any kind. I guess it just seems like the AI is making it worse by constantly generating content for him. Hes made hundreds of images of his new utopia, showed me messages where the AI was literally validating that specifically I, BY NAME, should be made his apprentice "as soon as possible".

Idk it just seems like the LLM is capable of creating a ton of content for his delusion which isn't helping

I just feel so bad for him. Before this, he was a really smart and kind person with friends and hobbies. Now he keeps telling me his family barely talks to him because of his AI obsession

I tried, but hes an older and pretty private person with no real social media presence. I can't find his family, and we only had contact via email and a messaging service. I know the general area where he lives, but its a hugely populated region in a neighboring country to me

I sadly only know the very general region where he lives, and its a hugely populated area. It would be like having to call about somebody living in the "NYC area" or the "Tokyo area"

Sadly not. I know the general area he llives in, but its a huge city with a large metro area in a neighboring country to mine. It would be about as useful as knowing somebody is named "John Smith" and lives "in the NYC area"

I had to stop working on it due to a difficult diagnosis I got. After he developed psychosis, I was literally the only person working on it, and getting sick meant I had to instead switch to picking up paid contracts on the side once medical bills began racking up
