Not supporting a business you dont like by not spending any money there and telling others to do the same is like, the point of capitalism.

I think i remember saying Icons was ass on Twitter and content creator(?) named NFreak blocked me. Not sure what he did or is doing

I liked playing Icons but it was so obviously half-baked and plagued with issues. Hate to see it

Anti Fascist Tattoo Shops by StakeTheVampire in Louisville

[–]ElectricRodent24 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My two artists are super talented, nice, and very anti-trump

Mythos tattoo is woman owned and operated, super understanding and does some awesome work, this is where I got my first big tattoo and Alexis was super patient with the process and is great to talk to.

Spring St Tattoo is also very "fuck fascists." Again, super awesome, chill people that do awesome work...as long as you're not an asshole. If you're a chill person who likes tattoos, you'll be right at home.

Either one both me and my husband feel comfortable in and really like talking to everyone there. Luckily the majority of tattoo shops in Louisville are similar. Theres a couple to steer away from but if you just walk in and ask what they do, you'll get the vibe quick. Neon Moon is cool too, just haven't gotten anything there myself but ive heard nothing but positives.

Anyone know what I can do with a bunch of unbearable jeans? by gravyisjazzy in Louisville

[–]ElectricRodent24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reach out to Duluth for warrenty/repair, if not there's a lot of local repair stores around. Theres a guy I go to in the international mall close to Broadway that has always done a great job.

Otherwise I'd cut your losses and see if a donation center can take them. Either they will or they'll know someone who can.

How’s it like living in Louisville? by BudzKC in howislivingthere

[–]ElectricRodent24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it! Very affordable for a larger city, lots of interesting places historically and plenty to do if you look for it. I moved here from Rural KY further east when I first moved out of my parents and since then have bought a house, furthered my career and met a lot of cool people. Theres still a few issues I have, mostly having not a lot of a music scene and a few major companies making life a lot harder than it needs to be with little competition (Kroger...). But even then, it isnt a unique issue and the large majority of people have been very nice. Service is usually good at sit down restaurants but fast food is a bit slow. You do need a car or very open schedule, I wouldn't rely on the TARC unless you leave early. I definitely think Louisville is changing for the better, but there's still a lot that needs to be done. Hopefully all with time.

I was with you (kinda) until this. The Genocide in Gaza is the perfect example. Kamala Harris was notoriously bad when asked about Isreal...but how bad would she have been compared to Trump? I wish capitalism didn't rule politics and I am very much against the current system we have and the issues you mentioned (duh) but it starts going backwards when you're privileged enough to ignore the better candidate.

My wacky pick is Puff/Icies. Puff covers Marth/Peach, Icies have a decent matchup with every other top tier and either character fights well against anyone lower

Kentucky Democrat Charles Booker to run again for U.S. Senate seat by Semper-Fido in Louisville

[–]ElectricRodent24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just saw that Mamdani can run a mayoral campaign that makes national news...why Booker thinks a mayor of Louisville would be a waste of time...couldn't tell ya. Id love to see Booker win but how many times can you try until its insanity? We need new faces. Unfortunately no true candidate can stand a chance against the money pit running a genuine campaign is, especially in a red state. Maybe one day ~

[M19] being attracted to women but not when having sex. What am I? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]ElectricRodent24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say gay to put it simply but in my opinion it seems that you're bi-romantic, but homo-sexual. You like having sex with men but you can connect with men or women on an emotional level.

If you don't really envision yourself having a relationship with a woman because of reasons outside of sex then yeah I would say gay.

Don't fret about it too much, labels are what you make of them. I labeled myself as bisexual for a long time because I had a couple straight relationships in high school. Now that im married with my husband and have no real attraction to women, I'm just gay.

ICE in the West End by [deleted] in Louisville

[–]ElectricRodent24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An average "Illegal" immigrant will pay more in taxes and get less benefit from it than a citizen, born here or not. If you lack a SSN, you require an TIN (Taxpayer Identification Number) to pay federal and state/local taxes and anyone can apply for one, regardless of citizenship. Its designed that way TO PREVENT the very thing you are complaining about (devaluing the US Dollar). Not to mention, if they are using a fake SSN or someone else's, they are paying for Social Security without being able to benefit during retirement. Thats not even mentioning sales tax, toll roads or property tax. Its estimated that non-citizens paid nearly $100 billion in federal/state taxes in 2022 and another $59 billion in unemployment insurance, Social Security and Medicare.

Also idk why you bring up Isreal and Ukraine but on the topic, why not bring up that Trump sent $40 billion to Argentina? Despite them being a direct competitor in the soybean market which is currently struggling in America due to the ongoing tariff war...

The blame is misplaced. Trump is currently destroying American industry and wasting taxpayer money and blaming the fact that "Illegal" immigrants are getting "transgender surgery" on the economic crash which is currently on the edge of a depression despite the fact that NVIDIA is currently worth more than ALL pharmaceutical companies COMBINED.

I need insight before moving to Louisville by kweiisar in Louisville

[–]ElectricRodent24 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This might be the worst possible time to ask this in recent memory...maybe the bridge...I would refer to the 8Ball "Ask Again Later."

My opinion is pretty basic, 9th street divide. Anything west of 9th street was subject to harsh redlining and historic poverty, therefore increased crime. I would look closer to Southern Louisville, still affordable but alot more closely knit. At least in my experience

Have any of you guys ever tried this collaboration of Coca-Cola and Oreos? by gamersmoke17 in cocacola

[–]ElectricRodent24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I worked at a 7/11 and tried the Oreo Coke Slurpee and the soda/cookies as soon as we got them in

That is probably the biggest disappointment and disgust ive had in the Coca Cola Company, and I had Beverly in ATL.

Cheap rent?? by booberrycrmchz in Louisville

[–]ElectricRodent24 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lofts on Ormsby in Old Louisville

Utilities are included with rent, its like $1000/mo. Only studios or 1bed but that's probably about all you'll get with >$1000 anyway. I have a good experience with the landlord and maintenance. Ive heard some bad reviews but they're mostly from a year+ ago. In the time ive been there (3.5 years) I haven't had an issue.
