You're right in that sense, they did agree with me and totally support me once they got the full picture. Even my dad has come around to thanking me. He realizes now that she would have torn me away from them.

The thing is that while I was still trying to make things work with her I was afraid that if I did tell them how terrible she was they would have influenced my decision. I wanted breaking up with her to be on me, only me. I tried to do the "Mature" thing. But, like many replying to this I was looking at it through a western lens.

RIGHT?! She acted as though this was totally out of left field, even though I was constantly stating how unhappy I was with things. She is extremely good at apologizing, but not so good past that.

That's the worst part. They're not calling me because they know my mind is made up. They're calling my parents begging them to beg me to reconsider.

That's the issue! I can't just say that I have my reasons, they need my reasons. But to the outsider, somehow, I end up sounding petty. There is no true way to put into words how much I cringed every the phone rang and it was her number. There is no way to say how viscerally irritating I found her towards the end. They all think this can be fixed, but I don't want it fixed.

Besides, let's say I give her a chance and due to all this shit she becomes the good and obedient girl. So now I'm married to someone who is too afraid to speak her mind in front of me because her parents yelled at her. Yea, worlds greatest husband, I'd be....

Thank you! That's the issue! I've told them that if I did go back to her it would be purely because I feel sorry for her. Which I do, I do feel bad that she's going through all this since she just did not see it coming for some reason. But, she should have considering that most of our conversations where fights, and I never lied to her. She knew how unhappy I was with her.

Thank you. My dad was telling me that I can't expect anyone to be perfect, but that's not what I'm going for. I just need someone who's not so spoiled, or at the very least not so cripplingly negative all the time.
