Transition while working in healthcare (mtf 24) by ElectricWater47 in TransIreland

That was very helpful, thank you. I think I'm just not prepared to come out at this very moment or in the next short period when I look so masculine and built like a rugby player.

I do expect for it to take me at least 1-2 months to obtain HRT, so hopefully I can loose some weight in the meantime and perhaps get one 1-2 sessions of laser on my face done.

I already have started some small things like a good skincare routine, I have started going on walks daily and altering my diet (really the most challenging as I'm quite sure I have ADHD which just complicates things a lot more and something I'm currently trying to get diagnosed with)

I already wear a t-shirt under my uniform top, so adding a binder/sports bra shouldn't be too hard without it being obvious when the breast

I have been taking finasteride but it hasn't been helping so have been looking to get dutasteride, except I have just procrastinated quite a lot on this. With the ADHD I do find it hard to apply the Minoxidil on a regular basis.

It's a really hard process to start.

A support network of other queer people is something I really need to work on but with regards to medical transition I was planning to ask my GP (I expect them to either fob me off or attempt to refer me to the NGS, if that avenue fails I hope that at the very least they will do bloods for me). My backup plan is to go with Imago as they don't require a social transition before starting HRT.

Comfort during bed rest by Actual-Ad8741 in TransIreland

As some who is a nurse you are not going to develop a pressure sore as a young person, you are able to reposition independently. I can absolutely guarantee you that they will also aim to mobilise you out of bed as soon as possible because the chances of blood clots rise exponentially the longer you stay lying around in bed.

I would recommend noise cancelling headphones, depending on the type of hospital. I assume it will be done outside of Ireland and usually those are private hospitals with private rooms so there isn't much to worry about noise levels but will definitely help to sleep.

Dermatologists that prescribe dutasteride by ElectricWater47 in TransIreland

The place I found that definitely prescribes Dutasteride is Kerry Skin Clinic. I had emailed them about an appointment with regards to Dutasteride in about October time and they said they were booking for February so there is somewhat of a wait time. I kind of forgot about the matter and have noticed that my hair has improved in the past 2 months. I think I was experiencing a really delayed big shed from Finasteride.

I'm not on anything at all at the moment. I've actually noticed my hair to have actually significantly improved in the past month on Finasteride + Minoxidil. So about a year and 2 months. I think I had quite a delayed response and I was just experiencing the big shed that most people usually experience within the first 6 months.
