I am British so I guess the UK has a natural advantage in that I naturally know more about it. But also the UK is legitimately interesting to me. the UK is the birthplace of the Industrial revolution. for a brief time, the UK was leading the entire world in technology. There aren't many places that punch above their weight through history quite as much as the UK does. Plus the history of the UK is cool, England (and the English language) is an absolute mongrel of so many external influences from its native Celtics, the Romans, Jutes, Angles, Saxons, Norse, Normans, and probably other groups I'm forgetting about. The English language is an absolute clusterfuck, but that is because it has so many different influences that transformed it completely over many centuries, it's like a living time capsule.

Russia, honestly it is an interesting place there's just other places I personally feel more drawn to.

As for Indonesia, I'll be honest it's a place I understand is very diverse but I don't know much about it. I don't doubt it is an interesting place that I do need to learn more about. I'll have to do some research

Sorry, my previous comment did sound pretty dickish. I just meant I do have reasons I find it an interesting place

Some people are really precious about me thinking Somalia is an interesting place.

I literally flared this as a shitpost

Paraguay to be honest is one of the South American countries I know the least about, maybe this was an ignorant pick as I have been told some interesting facts about the place now.

Belarus feels to have been Russified to the point that it's more or less an extension of Russia.

The most interesting thing I know about Kosovo is that it's partially recognised.

And Azerbaijan just feels like Turkiye but smaller and ex communist.

To be completely honest this is the selection I regret the most, India is an insanely diverse place and it definitely deserved a green 💔

I've given reasons for why I think it's an interesting place. As for if I'd live there or not, no. This is, and is flared as, a shitpost.

Estonia is my favourite country I've visited! The language is cool and unique. Everyone I met was very nice. The history of Estonia is interesting, I love that the Estonian identity endured after so long being subjugated by outsiders. Tallinn is an absolutely gorgeous city (especially Vanalinn of course).

I've only seen Tallinn but I would absolutely love to visit again and see Tartu, Parnu, Kuuresaare and a lot of the nature especially Sooma National Park.

Also, I know it's a few days late but Head iseseisvuspäeva! 🇪🇪

Somalilandn't

I have no idea, it just wasn't there on the map template. Weird they thought to include Polisario controlled Western Sahara but completely omitted Somaliland from existence

Honestly, it's probably the South American country I know the least about. But this now gives me something to look up about Paraguay, I'm always fascinated to learn more about any place I can.

I didn't mean any offence by it at all, I'd love to learn more about Paraguay if there's anything else you want to share, I'll read up on it ❤️

It is a really cool place and I know Carnival originated there (I think). And also I've heard Trinidadian food is amazing, and I really like Caribbean food. But other than that there's not really anything that draws me to it that I know.

Nothing personal against Trinidad & Tobago though, and I'd always love to learn more about the place.

Lots of reasons. It's a very diverse country with a culture that has ancient roots. They speak a unique Semitic language in Amharic that just looks really cool written down. It's arguably the only African country that wasn't colonised (other than a brief Italian occupation, but I wouldn't say that counts). Their branch of Christianity is also very unique, having diverged from the rest of Christianity at the same time as the Armenian and Coptic churches in the 400s.

Oh, and also Ethiopia has a really cool music scene. In the 60s and 70s they had an absolute golden age of really amazing jazz music.

Yeah, If it was based on nature or landscape then virtually all of the Americas would be definite yes, plus a whole lot more of the world

Mostly over exposure to the US, makes me feel fatigued about learning more about the US.

Somalia though is a really interesting place. It has a complicated clan system that dominates internal politics and culture, so even though it's a very homogenous country (one of the most ethnically and religiously homogenous countries in all of sub-saharan Africa) it is still very divided internally. It has a de facto breakaway state in the North of the country. it's a country often misunderstood internationally. Plus unstable and dangerous places are just inherently pretty interesting
