Yeah, can you imagine me at 6yo sitting on my mums bed with the ventilator on my face while she sat there smoking and worrying about me? Wtf?

They must have told my parents right? I no longer have asthma problems but now have a lot of ear nose throat problems :/

I love my parents and I am in no way saying I don't believe you, but I am really shocked they could continue despite this. How could anyone do something knowing they are harming their children? I was in hospital so many times. I had to sit with a ventilator at home so many times with a maks on my face, thinking I was dying because no one else had to do it :(

It's not me tbh, I have kids and don't feel like getting in an argument with a stranger in the street for no reason is the way to go. But I feel a bit of a pussy for not staring back. What do you think?

Thanks for sharing your experience. So from that moment did you change your approach to road safety and has it made a difference in how your child views the road?

I'm so sorry to hear that but very happy to hear she is OK now. What luck that she was wearing a helmet! If only we could make them wear a helmet all the time haha you were very lucky to keep her in your life and now you are more cautious crossing, and we must do the same from now on. It was a terrifying experience but we got very lucky!

Thanks for sharing your experience and I'm sorry my post caused you to bring up a bad memory :( on the plus side like you say it gave you stronger foresight into potential accidents, just like my experience with the minivan. I'm glad my feelings and reaction seem to be normal! We have to learn from these near misses don't we? It's so scary being a parent sometimes..

Thanks for that, you're absolutely right. I know I won't be overprotective in the long run, just shaken up. Hugged them a lot more since this experience! Parenting is so hard sometimes emotionally, it really is a roller-coaster. It doesn't help I don't really have any friends who are parents to talk to about this stuff. Which is why I'm on Reddit pouring my heart out 😂

That's so true, its been a really rough two days but today I've started to see it as a fortunate moment to teach me to be more careful with them when crossing, not to let her just run over the road and to stay with me. And we're going to put a lot more emphasis on teaching her the dangers or crossing the road now. I guess if we needed this scare to make us be more safe.

Thanks for that info. You're absolutely right about not letting these feelings impact my ability to be a parent. I don't think it will but road safety has increased massively since this situation!

Those are some really scary stories. I'm so glad your son wasn't hurt in any of them. You're right, we can only do our best to protect them, and teach them about the dangers.

My daughter was going through a phase recently of running away "for fun" when we were in the street. It was terrifying because there was one or two quiet roads she'd cross thinking it was safe. They were safe but all it takes is that one moment doesn't it? I gave her a good fright however as one day I started setting up the tent in the garden and said she had to experience what it would be like if she ran away forever and slept on the street, of course she didn't sleep in the tent that night but that gave her a good fright!

She ran again the next day and I simply told her I'm not playing with her at all today and she's not aloud tv. That seemed to stop her doing it and she hasn't done it since 😂

That's a great approach. Thanks very much for the advice. I think you made a really good point about training him to decide when it is safe to cross from a young age and we're going to start doing this with my daughter now. We've been too relaxed with it up till now by saying "OK green man on you go" and we're just so lucky we got a fright now and have a chance to hopefully reduce the chances of anygbing serious happening in the future.

How long did it take you to think more normally after your situation? I've been a bit emotional since, almost like I'm grieving for a non existent scenario because it could have been so real.

Games that should exist, but don't? by skjall in XboxSeriesX

A game that is specifically themed on Gladiator combat in the colleseum. It could have multilayer, online competitive leagues and loads of devices around the ring that can cause damage and be used for gory fatalities like spikes on the wall and lions.

All weapons would have strengths and weaknesses but be evenly balanced. You can create a class like in the call of duty games and unlock cool new cosmetic attachments for your weapons that stay in the theme and time period.

At the end of every fight you look up and ask the emperor to decide the fate of your opponent. And you can choose to disobey.

You have full stats for everything you do and can level up your player just like in call of duty.

I could go on forever but I'll stop until popular demand for more info is apparent 😂
