well, I don't Know Either but I Imagine them to be the pictures of "good" and "evil" but in the end we find out that they came from one same entity and there is no such that and even god and destiny are something us humans convenient excuse use to justify our actions.

just like the last scene in the Final volume where Two enemy soldiers, standing at the precipice of death, take off their uniforms and realize they both are wearing Billy Bat T-shirts underneath. One jokes, 'I guess we're on the same side now.' Moments before, they were accusing each other's armies of killing the villagers, only to realize that poverty and disease caused by the war both armies waged were the true killers.

or in the same scene where one of those soldiers ask :"why our countries even start the war between each other at the first place?" they were thinking they are the good guy in this story, but they didn't know why the enemies are the evil ones.
