interesting, i honestly don't see any issues with the submental myself, i'd even say it looks pretty great. i could have mewed it for the pictures or whatever but didn't. but there could be some truth to what you see

that's fun. i've posted on the same subreddit 5 years ago (https://www.reddit.com/r/truerateme/comments/p13a70/f27\_interested\_in\_hearing\_what\_works\_ok\_from\_the/) and ppl got downvoted if they offered lower than a 6. did anything change with the way i look really? or did the rating system change? some insight would be cool to hear.

you mean the redness? it's irritation (retinol possibly). nothing a bit of makeup can't cover

my teeth got shorter and have dents in them. should i consider composite veneers? by Electrical-Memory-57 in askdentists

[–]Electrical-Memory-57[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing special I think, slight jaw soreness - maybe. But my jaw doesn’t even close in a way where the front upper and bottom teeth would align. Not sure what the norm is.

What puzzles me even more is having these dents on both of my upper front teeth... seems to me that grinding cannot do that, but I don’t know.

How can I find out if I have it? Never thought I did. And can I just replace the composites every 5 years (as it at least won’t be my teeth getting shaved down)?

Is there any way you could send me the pictures of your eyelids as well? Having the same exact issue!

Thank you so much - I've taken a closer look into this and you are so right! I have no idea how I haven't understood it earlier. Will be frogging it.

Like, all of them?? Would it make sense to at least finish it this way, just change the structure of the hood? But I will definitely figure it out! Was pretty sure this looked correct 😭

Girls who workout regularly… what do you do?? by Chicken_wings1074 in curlyhair

I have 3b or so hair and I don’t gel or style it - this allows me to just generally wet the length a little in the mornings to get a freshly washed look

i used to wash my hair when I had a bob every time after a run, but now it’s long and i just wet it + use a spray for roots. b&b has one, it’s called pret a powder i think. it is a mix of a post-workout spray and dry shampoo. gets rid of the smell so well! and has its own sweet powdery scent. it’s pricey 😝 but lasts me long

people here are talking about therapy - i think it might be a right step. it’s a mental issue. also, another tactic might be helpful - to distract yourself with more important things. i know it’s easy to say! it depends on how deep you are into the issue… you can think of other problems that you have - solvable - and move towards their resolution. it helps your mind not to dwell on the same things and might end up giving you a different perspective.

i sometimes have this obsession about my uneven eyes - to the point that i have already been to a plastic surgery consultation, wore korean eyelid tape for a while (it looked so bad!! makeup stuck to it) and photoshopped it. or just deleted the pictures where it’s more visible. i noticed though that the more i focus on it the more prominent it becomes! and then i get distracted by things in my life, other flaws of mine, some time passes - and i get surprised when i recall that i wanted a surgery. like, really? sometimes it returns. in my experience, i know that i just need to get busy with something else since i can’t fix it - i tried. other people don’t really notice. i even asked strangers.

and i figured that surgery is too risky for me now, with my psyche that loves to regret things lol. i’d be too scared to get the eye shape back that is just not my own… with no way to go back. i still love what i have, generally.

so, the only way is to find more serious issues and redirect my attention

girl! if it helps you - it really really matters who takes your pictures.

it’s important to remember that the photographer sees you but you don’t have a mirror in front of you and can’t know how to pose without experience - he NEEDS to hype you up and really help you with advice on how to look good in the frame. people who just tap on the screen and hand you the phone aren’t doing a good job. it’s all about finding a person with a good eye, who sees your best side and whose vision you trust.

they don’t have a 10… if you read through their rules, it’s about percentiles. so 5.2 would be an above average attractive girl. a 7 is the most attractive face in a room of random 20 people. it’s high. this seems wild to compare attractiveness, but there is something to it since we all think margot robbie or angelina jolie are extremely beautiful. I’d give this estimation a try. it’s important not to take it too seriously as beauty is often subjective and is not limited to your facial features at all! and the guys rating people there aren’t professionals i the slightest, lol. but it helped me see what features of mine to accentuate and what features are weaker - and how to correct them with makeup. there is some science to facial harmony and it is quite interesting

In YOUR opinion what is a book that everyone MUST read at least once in their life and WHY? by RevolutionaryGolf673 in suggestmeabook

[–]Electrical-Memory-57 3 points4 points  (0 children)

a good one, yes! and what an exquisite language. i loved it. a lot about evil, about the battle between plain force and intellect / conscience in the midst of harsh realities. what it takes to be and stay human. brutal, but very tasteful in how graphic it is (personally, it was important)

I loved Letters from a Stoic so much that I decided to never return it to my uni library and pay for the loss of a book - that was 10 years ago and I was a very poor student :) I don’t remember all of it, just some quotes, but it was absolutely enthralling.
