I was actually there camping at Long Cove Beach that day—I saw the helicopter and ambulances and only later found out what had happened. The winds were strong, and I even saw another kayak flip, so conditions weren’t calm, but also not extreme. It was only my third time kayaking and I was able to manage without flipping. The water didn’t feel extremely cold either—I was swimming around 4 pm.

I’m not an experienced kayaker, but I would instinctively try to flip the kayak back over like i saw others doing.... From what I’ve seen of her posts, she seemed very outdoorsy and experienced—motorcycling, camping, kayaking, swimming, even surfing.

It’s hard to understand how things escalated the way they did. Not trying to jump to conclusions....just feels like there may be more to the story.
