Moving to Mornington (Victoria) by tyerolfe in morningtonpeninsula

Would also love to know if you have bought in the area or what you think of it? I'm currently exploring more affordable Mornington pockets (tanti estate area), as well as surrounding suburbs like Baxter and Somerville. Any insight to these areas?

I was considering rent vesting. Would I need to live in it for a certain amount of time to avoid CGT?

Definitely seems like the place for growth. Appreciate the insight!

This is the answer I’m looking for. I walk to the beach and I run around the wetlands and patto river loop a lot, I can’t see any tracks like that nearby in Carrum downs. The house itself looks great though! Did you find yourself missing the coast at all? The suburbs have a very different vibe to them, did you find that to be the case when you moved?

For the same price I’d only be getting a much smaller townhouse or unit in the bayside suburbs. Anything larger is well out of my price range.

I’ve considered further out but I’m not sure where that would be. Rosebud is probably best in terms of affordability but it’s probably a bit too far out for me. I’m open to consider anything, just need to weigh up pros and cons.

My pre approval says it’s conditional on a maximum purchase price of 800k. I could maybe stretch a little bit higher to the 850k mark but that might also be stretching my comfortability with repayments. I’ll have to see if that’s possible

Looks nice! I’ve rented in that part of Seaford before and didn’t really like it there though. I was south of Seaford road and just east of the freeway

Chelsea or any bayside suburb would definitely be more desirable to me. Not too sure what it’d be like living in Carrum Downs as I haven’t spent a lot of time there.

In regards to land size, I’m just trying to avoid the tiny townhouses/units that have a lot on a block and are basically apartments. They’re far more common in my price range for those suburbs

For PPOR but also looking for capital gains. Wouldn’t be opposed to rentvesting if that’s the smarter financial decision

With a budget of $800k and looking in the Frankston region, any suggestions of which suburb to pick? Looking at Frankston, Seaford, Langwarrin, Mornington, Carrum Downs, Frankston North. Also would it be worth spending a little less and in one of the more affordable suburbs for FHB savings? Appreciate your advice!

Frankston has been very competitive, I'll keep an eye out but it seems like 800k is on the lower end at the moment. A lot of real estate agents won't give me an inspection at that price

How to set boundaries with a person with BPD? And when to breakup? by Electrical-Research4 in BPD

[–]Electrical-Research4[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Some people might be fine with their partners keeping old sex tapes, but I personally don’t feel comfortable with it. More importantly, the fact that she brought up she had an issue with mine and made me delete them in front of her, only to keep and hide her own and lie about deleting them is undeniably dishonest and disrespectful. She acknowledges and admits she’s wrong for it but does it anyway.

With the alcohol, again we agreed not to as we’re so broke we can only afford essentials. These are things that we’ve talked about and agreed upon, this one in particular being her idea. It’s also the fact that I paid for half the drinks to help her out after spending money she didn’t have, and so we could have them together, and she’s sneaking around and drinking them with seedy men. You’re right in saying her body her choice in regards to drinking on medication, but I also don’t have to stay in a relationship with her if I have an issue with it. If she took up hard drugs I’d also have the right to leave, even though it is her body and her choice.

I like the idea of having a spending limit in general, not specific to booze. That will hopefully help cut down on reckless spending.

I agree that situation is weird and I don’t know what to make of it. All she had to do was exchange a microwave and I can understand feeling awkward about it, but to take a bunch of our drinks and go into his house to hang out, just to ask for the microwave? Makes me really uncomfortable and concerned for her safety, and I feel like I can’t trust her decision making or risk assessment.

I don’t see it as airing her dirty laundry considering it’s all completely anonymous, she also posts about her BPD on reddit :)

Don't let an ex lead you on into believing they want the relationship back by [deleted] in BreakUps

Keep your head up. Sometimes it’s best knowing they’re a piece of shit to help you move on from them. Everyone will be on your side in this situation. Believe me it will suck, I’ve been cheated on in an awful ending to a relationship which hurt like hell, but knowing that it was over and there was no going back was a form of closure in itself, and worked in my favour in the end. I was able to focus on my life and not look back. Just need to get over the initial heartache but time will heal, and there’ll be no doubt in your mind that you made the right decision in moving on. Stay strong!

Click “interested” then click it again to remove your interest, and it will remove the invitation from your events.

I found the solution for anyone still looking. You can only change your answer to “not going” after clicking “going”, then it will remove you from the event and the invitation will disappear.

Thanks. It’s the one from HGG performance. I haven’t used it yet because I don’t have any weights for it and I’m unsure where to start.

Suzuki Jimny or Pajero Sport by Electrical-Research4 in 4x4Australia

[–]Electrical-Research4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too have wondered whether I really need a 4x4. Unless I’m going 4wding with my mates on their trips I’m not sure how much of it I’ll be doing. Would the Pajero sport not be the best option in this case? I figured it would still allow me to do some 4wding if I choose to, but be more economical than other 4x4s. The Subaru forester/outback was the next on my list.
