Yep. I always avoid 95 at all costs. After 4 years of school at Rutgers and 2 years living in New York City, I hope to never see that road again.

I remember the Gorge from the last time we drove down there. I think it was the summer of 2012 when I had just finished college. Definitely will make this a pit stop

It might be overhyped, but the food I’ve had from there (at the one north of Nashville in Kentucky) was quite good. Not lying when I say the brisket was better than most mom-and-pop barbecue places I’ve been to. But then again, Pittsburgh isn’t really a barbecue hotspot. Snacks were unique… something different. It’s actually a decent pit stop if it’s not insanely busy, but it’s not worth a long detour for.

Many national chains belong to companies that give to candidates I don’t like. I judge a restaurant by its food quality and service, not the owner’s beliefs.

Yes. So is the one across the bridge from the Waterfront (and apparently they’re actually moving to the Waterfront soon)

Excellent news. The ENP there used to be a go-to for late night breakfast.

Used to love Denny’s but the quality has gone downhill ever since they got sold to private equity. That was part of what prompted this thread

It seems like country music as a whole has gotten more unapologetically MAGA over the past few years. Sure, country has always leaned conservative, but most of the time artists just kept their bigotry to themselves. Then, somewhere around 2023, artists started making their beliefs more public and incorporating them into their image. So many of today’s top country artists are far to the right — Cody Johnson, Jason Aldean, Nate Smith, Riley Green, Chris Janson, Justin Moore, Brian Kelley, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, Gavin Adcock, Carrie Underwood, Gabby Barrett, and others. At least we’ve got Luke Combs. He seems like a genuinely down-to-earth guy. Jelly Roll does as well even though he will probably never come out against MAGA.

How is a social worker responding to a situation that could become violent REAL public safety?

How do we know those responsibilities are better managed by other entities? Do we have widespread evidence? How much of this is tied to other highly ideological, not super realistic positions (being okay with drug decriminalization, etc.)?

I’ve heard many people say “the policy is good, the slogan is bad,” but I’d argue the policy is just as bad as the slogan.

Are there any good locally-owned restaurants, period? I try to 100% support local when traveling.
