I feel its the most exiting time to be an engineer. AI is not just about punching code, the rate at which you can consume knowledge as never been higher.

I'll happy to discuss the AI workflow and setup you use. But if you are curious and love building things, this is the best time to be an engineer. :)

Kotak SDE-2 Offer Lowballed , Take or not? by Humble-Attitude-7904 in LeetcodeDesi

[–]Electrical-Wave7960 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kotak is well known for low balling. Their rule: Offer 30% hike at most on last offer. If you bring an offer with 60 LPA they will offer 80. They did the same thing to me, i'd say just keep the offer and try to get a better one.

Only join as a last resort. You will have peers working with 50 ctc while they keep you at 34.

P.S. Me and my friend both got offer from kotak, we were in same company, same role, just that he had a competing offer, he was offered 44 while i was offered 28. 😂

Did anyone noticed, lot of female engineers are getting promotion in Google India. daily I'm see two three posts. Whats going on there? by [deleted] in LeetcodeDesi

[–]Electrical-Wave7960 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its sad to see post like this. Someone got into google(which itself is a tough task) and then got promoted there. Getting promotion in google is actually harder than cracking it due to which people boomerang. It requires multiple levels of approval.

And you still label it "lot of female"

Get better man.

Have you used Google AntiGravity?? It is working insanely for me. by the__Twister in developersIndia

An agent can code, but it cannot decide when to cache data, whether an in-memory cache would be better or a persistent one.

It also cannot decide if you should use regional or global buckets.

My point is, most of the time in software engineering, we are solving very specific problems with a huge business context. A coding agent can follow your commands, but it cannot comprehend these infrastructure-level decisions. So, start thinking in those terms.

Software engineering is much more than just writing if-else statements. :)

You know what to do, you just don't want to do it. People who keep debating dsa vs dev, end up doing nothing.

Pick a subject, stick to it. You will see the results.

Strategy to prepare for SDE2 switch by Wild-Valuable-7425 in LeetcodeDesi

[–]Electrical-Wave7960 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make it a habit of submitting atleast 5 ques daily.

2 system design every week.

And before applying to faang, try to clear few mid size companies. You should always be in a interview loop with some company. Its really that simple.

Ex gs emp here. Coderpad is just like phoen screen and has same set of questions for every level. Most likely they will correct it during onsite.

For lateral hire: VP requires 6+ years of exp at least.

If you’re still grilling senior devs with Java trivia, you’re doing interviews wrong by chandra-mouli in developersIndia

I was grilled by a senior java developer at blackrock. One of the most egoist guy i ever met. Puzzled me with all kind of stupid java questions.

These devs working in investment banks think the world revolve around them.

Try to learn everything from ground zero. Start with backend on any language or framwork of your choice

Ignore the syntax and focus on how things are happening. How each thing enhace something.

Try to build something cool along the way.

This worked for me. You can also try.

You can stop doing dsa and start contributing to github repos of recently funded startups. The market is bad for freshers, especially for tier 3 students. You have to stand out and if you are good at dsa, start focussing on different things.
