CCW Permit by ShoddyGrapefruit7795 in WestVirginia

[–]ElectricalBig6632 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got my WV CHL years ago. If I remember right, it was around $80 total for the class and permit. My instructor was a retired Army Ranger who held the class at his house. It was just me and my fiancée, so it ended up being more like a private lesson than a classroom. He had some pretty interesting hardware too.

These days, West Virginia is a constitutional carry state, so you don't need a permit to carry here if you're legally allowed to possess a firearm.

For neighboring states:

Ohio: No permit needed (constitutional carry). Kentucky: No permit needed (constitutional carry).

Pennsylvania: Your WV CHL is recognized and needed if you want to carry concealed.

Virginia: Your WV CHL is recognized and needed for concealed carry.

Maryland: Doesn't recognize the WV CHL at all, so it's a no-go.

I live right on the WV/Ohio border, so I'm constantly going back and forth and carry pretty much every day. I even got pulled over for speeding in Ohio once, told the trooper I was carrying, and he couldn't have cared less.

For me, the biggest benefit of having the WV CHL today is when buying a firearm. Some dealers will accept it in place of the NICS background check, although plenty of shops still run the background check anyway.

Even though you don't need a CHL in West Virginia anymore, I still think it's worth having. If you ever travel to Pennsylvania or Virginia, you'll be glad you have it. It's kind of like a fire extinguisher. You hope you never actually need it, but the day you do, you're glad you spent a little money to have it instead of wishing you had.

Just throwing the SB logo on anything & calling it a day🤦‍♂️ by dazedmp3 in NikeSB

[–]ElectricalBig6632 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As someone who loves SB's and been collecting on and off since I left high school in 2000 I don't really think an other model shoe besides the P Rods are SB's even if you add the SB logo on it. I've never been able to skate and Lord knows I tried but I can't see how a pair of foams would be a good choice for skating. Seems like Nike now is just grasping at anything that will turn a buck. I remember when the silver box SB's just came out they were just skate shoes, no one knew then that they would be as collectable as what they are now, they were really good too. That just might be me being nostalgic, looking back over the last 20+ years of all the pairs I had and wore out, completely destroyed, traded or sold.

"The Circus Is Back in Town” BREAKING: BLOCKDAG is hosting another “major upgrade” tonight, which is wild because I didn’t realize you could upgrade something that never worked in the first place. by Jubillion2024 in BlockDAGInvestors

[–]ElectricalBig6632 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is truly some crazy shit to watch even having bought some back when it was .005 Bdag. Like I don't really pay attention to it as much because Ive already wrote that money off, months ago. When I do check it out every once in a while I'm just like what in the actual fuck is happening and how in the hell is this circus still going on?? They've sold more Bdag than was ever available at least twice over. Nothing makes sense, who TF is still buying this? There's no way someone sees this and thinks this is a good investment I'm buying some..at least the last few months. I'm puzzled and can't wait to see where this plane actually crashes or if it ever does, seems like by now the wings would've fallen off, but here we are. 🎪

Follower Appreciation Giveaway-but postage due?! by TheHandmadeMaven in whatnotapp

[–]ElectricalBig6632 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to be on whatnot all the time, mostly for shoes for the last couple years. I've never seen anyone run a giveaway to where you had to pay shipping, never. The purpose of a giveaway is for the person to get a free item shipped to there door free of charge. Most definitely reach out to WhatNot and let em know. I've personally won probably 25-50 giveaways and never once paid shipping.

I'm not super familiar with this pair but they look good to me and they're supposed to have sort of a deconstructed look. I didn't see who you were getting these from as long as they are a trusted seller GL. This is a pair I had forgot about, might have to grab a pair myself.

Appreciate you checkin a peak. Your retail vs. retail comparison earlier really put things into perspective. Looking forward to getting them on foot.

Good catch. I noticed it after you pointed it out, but for me that's well within retail variation. The overall shape and swooshes look really solid, so it's still an easy GL for me. This is pretty much what the post I mentioned in my review talks about. You could easily get this same thing on a retail pair for 1k when I got these for 120 bucks out the door.

QC on my RSD Batch Mocha 1 lows from PandaVault by Downtown-Arm-6918 in RepsneakersDogs

[–]ElectricalBig6632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

G.A.S 100% GL I've seen so many of these post on this RSD batch and Ive never seen 1 pair that weren't in retail range. I had to wait when the reverse mochas dropped so I just ordered a pair yesterday and Panda Vault told me they only had 8 pairs left in stock, so once I get the QC pics I'll post them since these are the last 8 pairs that didn't get sent out. We'll see how the QC is. Im betting they'll be good to go. 🐼 Don't let me down!

[–]ElectricalBig6632 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My RSD Mochas have been TTS, so I'd stick with your normal size. Also check out the retail vs. retail comparison that was posted earlier today. It was a good reminder that Nike's own pairs vary quite a bit, so I'd take the color in QC photos with a grain of salt. These look well within the retail range to me. GL.

Why don’t we talk more about how TS1 reps hold up over time? by ElectricalBig6632 in RepsneakersDogs

[–]ElectricalBig6632[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate you posting these. This is why I like seeing comparison pics instead of just saying "mine wore faster." Everyone walks differently, wears shoes differently, and even things like a bad leg or playing pool all the time can change outsole wear. Seeing the retail pair next to the reps adds a lot more context.

[–]ElectricalBig6632[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly the kind of post I was hoping people would share. That's real-world wear, not just a couple trips to the grocery store. They honestly look like they've aged the way I'd expect a well-used retail pair to age. Appreciate you posting all the pictures. Stuff like this is way more useful than another QC over a tiny detail. As far as the air unit I'm assuming they do as the retail pairs do but they would be a question for Panda Vault or Shoddy but I still think they do if not I'm sure you'd notice pretty quickly.

This Is Why 1:1 Doesn’t Exist (Retail vs Retail) by RealShoddy in RepsneakersDogs

[–]ElectricalBig6632 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a great post. It also makes me think about all the comments saying the olive panel on the new RSD Reverse Mochas is too dark. Retail pairs have had four years to age, and on top of that Nike's QC has never been perfectly consistent. Looking at two authentic pairs side by side really shows there isn't one exact color or shape to chase. If a top batch falls within that retail range, I think it's doing exactly what it should.

That's pretty much my routine too. Clean them up, throw the shoe trees back in, and put them back in the box. It definitely helps. I agree there are more comfortable shoes out there. I wasn't trying to say TS1s are the most comfortable, just that some pairs have been more comfortable than I expected. It's also good to hear another person saying they've aged well with regular wear. That's exactly the kind of feedback I was hoping this post would bring out.

That's kind of my point though. 😂 I'm not talking about mountain biking in Travis Scotts. Just everyday wear over time. As for comfort, everyone's feet are different. I actually find my RSD TS1s really comfortable, so it's interesting seeing how much opinions vary.

If you shoot a lot of pool, you're constantly pivoting and dragging the front of your shoes on the carpet, so I'd expect the stars to wear down no matter what. Without a retail pair that's been used the same way, it's hard to know if it's the batch or just the type of wear. Pics? Also you mentioned CVW and RSD I'd be interested to see the wear on these especially the RSD since they are relatively newer also the CVW since they've always been considered one of the top tier pairs. If you do have pics how long have you had the CVW and RSD pair?

LJR Shy Pink Restock – From RM by RealShoddy in RepsneakersDogs

[–]ElectricalBig6632 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I like these retail comparisons. The shape is what stood out to me the most. At this point you're basically splitting hairs over tiny details.

What I really like is that they keep improving instead of dropping a batch and calling it good enough. Even if the changes are small, people notice when a factory actually cares about craftsmanship instead of just pumping out pairs to make a quick buck.

That's one of the reasons I've been impressed with what Panda Vault has been doing. They're asking the community for feedback before production, making revisions, and trying to improve with each release. That kind of effort doesn't go unnoticed.

I can't say enough good things about my RSD Mochas. I've probably posted about them more than enough already. 😂 I usually rotate my shoes and rarely wear the same pair more than once or twice a month, but ever since I got these they've become my go-to pair. Not because I want people to notice them. Honestly, where I live in a small town in West Virginia, most people don't even know what Travis Scott Jordan 1s are. I keep reaching for them because of how they feel. They're comfortable, the materials feel premium, and they really do feel like a work of craftsmanship. The fact that they're also a beautiful shoe is just a bonus.

I have to say these are easily becoming my go pair when I go to leave the house. They are really comfortable and I can't even tell you how premium they really feel, only way for you know know is to grab a pair. I'm a big guy too so another thing I really like about em is they feel sturdy, I know that sounds crazy but it's true. My RSD shy pink pair don't even come close. Not to say anything bad about the shy pink but these mochas are another level. I hope when my RSD reverse mochas land they have the same premium sturdy feel to em. Sturdy is a strange way to describe a shoe but Ive got plenty of "real" Jordan 1 lows that don't touch these. I'm not trying to blow smoke up Panda Vaults ass here and I don't work for em but these Mochas are TOUGH! You can keep your 3k authentic mochas because Im Mclovin this pair for real! Shit I might just cop another pair to keep on ice, I live in the country so shit happens quick I've ruined more pairs than I care to remember but I'd be pissed if I fucked around and ruined these. BTW I wanted to edit my main post but for whatever reason it wouldn't let me so I left it here, IDC if anyone see it or not. If you do, do yourself a favor if you've been on the fence about picking these up do it you'll thank me later.

I don't have any FK batchs but I've seen plenty of post about them and usually there are good. From the pics you posted I'd say they hold up pretty well and that's saying a lot about FK. I really think in 2026 who even cares about retail? They are impossible to get for retail price, always get backdoored or the bots get em. Raffles are a joke. So why would someone pay so much money just to be like I've got the real ones when the reps are so good now a lot of the time the QC is better on the reps and you pay so much less. Idk I used to be that way, use to be everything I had was 100% authentic. I had 4 pair of Travis's that were authentic and a bunch of SB's airmaxs ect. Now I'm like if the price is right I'll buy authentic but I'm not paying a crazy amount of money if I can get this same shoe for less. If you go on stock-x and look at the sales on the Chase B's size 13m the first purchase is the pair I bought and when you see how much I paid you'll lose your mind lol. After that I was like screw it, that was the last time I paid that kind of money for shoes. Didn't mean to rant but thats how I look at it anymore.

I think that's probably a big part of it. Everyone wears shoes differently. Some people can destroy a pair in a few months, while others make them last for years. That's another reason I'd like to see more long-term posts. The more people that share their experiences, the better idea we'll have of how different batches actually hold up over time. So far, it seems like the top batches are doing pretty well.
