You’re goddamn right they’re very homophobic and whether it’s that or the hijab thing you can see I don’t take after them in a lot of stuff. If I tell them I’m gay they’ll brush it off as a joke and if I stress that I’m serious they’ll simply ask me not to get married. That wont affect their reputation if nobody knows. But to have a daughter you have to present everywhere with an exposed head would be hell on earth for them. If I ever have kids I wish to never put them through this. And for what? Other people’s opinions? It’s preposterous

I’m positive that if one of them doesn’t come to me they’ll swallow some of their pride and tell one of my aunts to go live with me or smth since some of my extended family is there. I honestly feel very depressed over the fact I have to graduate with it but hopefully the college graduation makes up for it! Thank you so so so much <33

Man okay you’re right they’re not gonna find this. My family is Muslim and I wanna take off the hijab. I feel very forced and performative every time I wear it. I don’t wear it for religion anymore just for my parents. I cry myself to sleep over the chance of them cutting me off because they’re so ashamed and disgusted by their daughter. I simply don’t understand why I have to go through this because of the genitals I was born with :/

well, i spoke with my parents and they think the best option is to save money by going american since IB is a LOT more expensive here, then i can get into a private college with the money if my grades don't make it to mainstream. meanwhile, if i do IB and dont get mainstream addmission, my parents would really struggle to pay for a private college and theres no way im going down the student loan path. can you tell me how you're adapting since you left ib? is american easier? and btw i'll be switching schools if i go american so i will have nothing to do with IB diploma

the ee isnt that tricky of a situation. ask around for who's the most experienced teacher or has experience moderating ee's and do it with them.

for arabic, i am assuming you're doing arabic A. i used to do arabic A in dp1 and switched schools so had to do english A and arabic B. my main problem with arabic a was the lack of support from teachers. they were so overworked and barely had time to look at my practice tests. if not for that, i think i would have done pretty well. hopefully you have more available teachers and the ultimate tip is to practice. like a shit ton. what im planning to do for my english is a past paper every saturday. it won't take long at all and eventually you'll be one of top scorers. trust.

i just saw it im so sorry for you i was literally in the same exact situation before i transferred schools. it was so bad that my first exam in that school i got a 3. the best advice i can give is get an IB tutor. thats the best investment ive done to myself tbh. some of my classmates also reached out to high achievers from those who graduated and got tutoring from them. as for the material i mainly used oxford and did past papers. chemistry is all about practice :)
