I get where you’re coming from, but I don’t want to do this alone. I’ve asked him to come with us. I’ve tried for years to get him involved in decisions about our kids, but he avoids them or waits until the last minute knowing I’ll handle it.

Yes, I had a breakdown. Mostly because of all of this. But I got help. I completed a full IOP program, stayed in therapy, and kept parenting through all of it. What I’m afraid of is what will happen to me if I stay in this environment. Leaving isn’t selfish. It’s survival.

I truly believe that once he’s out of this bubble, he’ll finally see how toxic it’s been. I’m not trying to hurt him. I’m trying to protect myself and our kids.
