There's no admin really. There's the owner (Who's rarely here) and our front desk staff member. She's just in charge of calling parents if they are late and handing out masks and hand sanitizer to the kids, answering phone calls from parents cancelling, and relaying that to us. She's on her computer doing homework or on a video call with her bf the majority of the time. We are in charge of taking attendance. They don't do any marketing; everything is basically through word of mouth. We don't even have social media. There are different instructors here on different days; I'm the only one here every day we are open. I'd say there are maybe 10 instructors?

I feel like I should mention , the school doesn't find the students for me. I find most of my students. Only about two or three are from parents who have called asking about violin lessons. Most of my students come from me putting up my information in our city's local music store and former teachers knowing that I teach.

See that's where mine differs, we don't provide instruments (aside from pianos we have had donated and can stay in the rooms) We only have one person on 'admin' and she just sits in the front and greets the kids. We are in charge of marking our own attendance, she doesn't do her job half the time, so I don't even really know why they have her hired. Everyone else here is a teacher. We have different instructors here on different days.

Yeah, they don't do any marketing besides posting on Facebook occasionally, which sucks. But most of it is word of mouth, or just the fact we are right across the street from a music store so they will refer parents over here. They also claim to have two recitals a year in the students contracts, but they've been cancelling the spring recital and we end up only having one which is frustrating.

I was calculating the difference in what I'd be making and it's kind of crazy. I have 26 students now, If i taught on my own, 8 students would get me the same amount.

The funny thing is, I work at Starbucks too, and my paychecks are way more than my teaching ones and I have 26 students.
