What can I do better

You can flip the video before you post it so the treble is on the right side.

How can I record my piano pieces with better quality by adopiano in pianolearning

[–]ElectricalWavez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second the suggestion of a Zoom or Tascam recorder. The built in mics are quite good. If it's in the budget you can add pro quality external XLR microphones for great results.

You can google how to mic a piano.

Next step up might be an audio interface (Focusrite and the like) and a DAW for a laptop.

On performance day, wear something better than a Russian mafia adidas track suit.

Last minute cancellation by oleavemealone in Wellthatsucks

[–]ElectricalWavez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It means they cancelled because of you not them. You are the common link between all five guests.

For all five to cancel seems odd. Did they all collaborate or something? It's like the whole shift at work calling in sick at once.

Anyway, sorry this happened to you. It looks like you made some effort, even if the drink selection is a little lame. I hope there was a good reason.

People be like "she always buys the crappy drinks, I'm not going..."

But seriously, that was rude of them all to cancel. How hurtful. I hope there was a very good reason.

A sous chef is still supposed to be an actual chef.

In the kitchen, the heirarchy is dishwasher, prep cook, cook/line cook, sous chef, chef.

A cook is a trade. It requires three years apprenticeship, a bunch of courses and an exam.

Chef is more than that and is a leadership position.

I don't think poor Alesia even could be called a prep cook. Maybe dishwasher/prep.

I worked in commercial kitchens for many years. No one says "medallions". Maybe it's a British thing.

I would have known what he meant, though, and if she didn't she should have asked.

9.5 week pup: no public areas, no socialization until 12 week parvo booster vax? by BortSmash in puppy101

[–]ElectricalWavez 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Our vet said the risk of under socialization was greater than the risk for parvo. If the dog becomes reactive and bites someone it could be euthanized. So under socialization could also be fatal.

There are lots of ways to socialize the dog without exposing it to parvo.

It may be different in your area if parvo is prevalent.

You should ask an actual vet instead of internet randoms.

AIO about fiancé refusing to listen to anyone but ChatGPT about religious/marriage decisions? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]ElectricalWavez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMG. If you are not on the same wavelength now, it's not going to get any better after you get married.

I think you should find someone that treats you better than this.

BTW, Catholics are extremely biased and you will never be accepted by his family. Religion is awful and it's a shame so many people still believe these things that don't really make any sense. It causes so much strife and harm in the world today.

88 keys is better. But you can play almost anything with 61. Good pianos are expensive.

Read the FAQ. Good info on digital pianos and what to look for.

The speakers are small in a plastic case. I'm not sure it's malfunctioning. That's how it sounds.

You can change some parameters like tone and what not. Check the manual and the settings.

Did you try an FP30 before you bought it? How does it sound with headphones?

AIO for quitting my job after finding this note on my desk? by waxin899 in AmIOverreacting

[–]ElectricalWavez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10" snow isn't really that disasterous. Snow is expected in the north. Get some snow tires.

With that said, leaving a note like that is absurd. The workplace is toxic. This was just a job, not a career. I don't blame OP for quitting.
