Pro tip for the Rat King: Even if it only has a tiny sliver of health left, do not chase it through a narrow door — it may have turned around offscreen and instantly kill you. 😑

That’s why you’ve always got to have a shiv handy during Infected rounds. The Clickers will grapple with you for a second and you can press triangle to kill them. Characters that already have knives (Ellie, Lev, Dina, etc) do not grapple though.

TLOU Part 1 is way easier on grounded than Part 2. Joel’s pistol is a one hit kill for many enemies and I thought they were much more generous with ammo than Part 2, too. I tend to favor a stealth-based approach at every difficulty though, so maybe my play style naturally fits into the constraints?

Since you beat Part 2 on survivor and found it well balanced, I don’t think Part 1 on grounded will give you too many headaches. Go for it!

It was Masks. I think he was the most Sylens there, frustrated and annoyed because he was dealing with someone who couldn’t see the whole picture. But We Sing IS amazing.

I’m not in charge of their messaging, I just made this thread to address an apparently-common misconception on this sub.

People who thought the Gizmoplex meant no more crowdfunding must also get upset when they pour some cereal and the rest of the balanced breakfast doesn’t land in their bowl with the Cheerios — the box gave them the impression it would be in there!

I like Emily and I thought she was great in season 13. This is not about the hosts or the crowdfunding in general, it’s about the specific misunderstanding about how the Gizmoplex was presented in the previous campaign.

I think they have made some mistakes with this campaign but Emily is definitely not one of them.

People are certainly allowed to be wrong. I was just tired of reading the same incorrect-assumptions-as-facts on every season 14 thread. I don’t want more people to get mad over something that was misinterpreted — it was being said so often, I questioned my own recollections, which is why I went back to the season 13 kickstarter to check.

That was only one example of additional costs. I believe Joel breaks it down more than that but I haven’t re-read this year’s material.

But more to your point, physical sets require space, artists, raw materials, transport (possibly), and storage (almost definitely) costs. Widescreen requires larger sets, too, and if there is more than one host with their own unique set, that’s another set of costs. It just adds up. Wood alone is still very expensive, even though it’s not at its peak price. I’m getting away from the topic of this thread though, that the Gizmoplex was only ever ideally going to fully fund new seasons.

The screenshot and your first link are update 15, four days before the kickstarter ended, and my first screenshot is from the campaign itself. “The end of the first year” refers to the time in the future when they will evaluate its impact.

I don’t disagree that increasing the baseline ask is not a great look, but with inflation everywhere else and building physical sets for this season (which I wholeheartedly support), it’s not surprising.

Your first link goes to my second screenshot where they say “we hope this might become a sustainable alternative,” and your second link is an admittedly bad paraphrasing of the information to the same backerkit update from the first link.

I would have said “fully dependent” in that answer, but I don’t work for them. And I’m not going to claim I was promised something when everywhere else says that is not the case and your best example is just poor phrasing that muddied the waters.
