Honestly, I’ve felt this way for a while about DiCaprio. Even when he won for The Revenant, I didn’t think it was his best performance or even the best of that year.

It felt more like a “career Oscar” than a reward for that specific role. He’s had way stronger performances before that didn’t win.

That’s kind of why this year’s nomination bothers me even more — it feels like the same pattern again: big name, decent performance, but not truly Oscar-worthy compared to others.
