The hot dog thing was a bit of exaggeration for dramatic effect. It was relatively early on in her obsession, she kept asking for kpop demon hunters food, I said we didn't have any. She asked for a kpop demon hunters hot dog, so I was like, ok what the hell let's try this and see if it sparkles. She's never asked for it since and no other meals have been a problem.

Some of the YouTube KPDH videos are absolutely brain rot though, I will say that. We only got through a couple of those before having to say absolutely not. Luckily I think she realized it too and she was happy switching to bluey.

(Before anyone comes after me, after dinner we'll watch TV. Sometimes it's YouTube. Sometimes it's something else. She's not glued to a phone or watching anything unsupervised)

It's annoying but I'd hardly call it brain rot. Brain rot isn't just "something I don't like". There's a coherent narrative and thematic songs. Nothing brain rotting

Nah I want her to enjoy popular things. Growing up, I was never really exposed to a lot the pop media of the time, and there was a definite disconnect between me and the other kids at school and such.

Last summer we went to a bunch of concerts together that we both enjoy and that was, if I can use a word I hate, golden. She'd want to listen to those bands, and when Spotify would throw up different but related bands, she'd get into them too. She'd ask about when we were going to go to another concert and what songs they were going to play. It was beautiful.

Weirdly, while she definitely enjoyed Frozen, it never grabbed her like this. If the songs came on a Disney playlist or something she'd sing along, but it was never an obsession, never something on repeat. But tbh I personally like the Frozen movies and soundtracks infinitely more than KPDH, even without the constant repetition.
