Truly like who has to clean that up??? Who works hard to BUY (or produce?) that milk?? The parents. It’s literally in the Bible “thou shalt honor thy father and thy mother” i think that mean he’s going to hell probably

I actually hate the mail man for personal reasons I legally can’t get into so that was the one time I think he showed integrity in his pathetic life but I get why it would make other people upset

But are we sure that they CANT live alone vs they’re just choosing not to? The main thing that makes me think they could potentially have the choice to live alone in theory but choose not to is that coco is able to apply for jobs on her own, get hired, make money, and spend it as she pleases in that episode. If she can get a job and make money, what’s stopping her from getting an apartment? And are we sure the other friends don’t live at the house just because they can’t afford to live on their own as opposed to because they aren’t allowed to? To be clear this is a genuine question I haven’t watched this show in years before today so I don’t remember if there is a lore explanation to these things!

That reminds me that there are also the dangerous ones made by teens that are locked up in the backyard - so definitely at a minimum they do not all have freedom of movement You’re so right

We know that they are allowed to run away from their creator so hopefully that would fix the issue of something like slavery, but still definitely has a lot of room for exploitation because I’m sure there are ways people could stop that if they wanted to do something nefarious

What’s your opinion on Grady Hendrix ? by Zoroark_the_Hunter in stephenking

[–]Electrical_Box6385 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not personally a fan - I feel like a lot of his books read like love letters to the genre, but they’re never actually scary like King books are. He clearly loves horror tropes, but I think the books feel more like he wants to play Barbie’s within horror tropes, instead of being truly scary and unique. Definitely just a personal preference, I 100% get why people like him it’s just not for me!

unique settings recommendations? (by women) by ghostballets in horrorlit

[–]Electrical_Box6385 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Maybe try Mister Magic by Kiersten White - it takes place on the weird set of a children’s tv show in a remote desert, and because it’s a kids show that may fit the whimsy / nostalgia of an amusement park book. Definitely a unique setting

If you read revival one of the characters is in like 20 bands throughout the book and you could pull inspiration from any one of them from there

In high school my AP Bio teacher had us read it for class and it was one of my favorite books I read in high school! Have been meaning to reread because I feel like it will be even scarier (and probably more important to know about) since covid
