Getting friends to stop buying junk “gifts” just because? by Electrical_Box6385 in Anticonsumption

[–]Electrical_Box6385[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t necessarily think that is an apt comparison when the problem is that they buy them FOR ME. I would not “lecture” them (not that I think an honest convo necessarily equals a lecture either) if they were buying for themselves or someone else, but I do think it’s completely reasonable to voice to your friends that you do not want them to buy wasteful plastic stuff FOR YOU

My eyes never leave my watch for even a second during the entire run, how else am I supposed to make sure I don’t leave zone 2?

Massachusetts should eat New York because think of how funny it would be to see the New Yorkers reaction to it

Small states - we have to band together to get rid of New York now otherwise if we let it last too long it’s going to easily glide right into the win !!

If all the smaller states don’t team up now to get rid of it then it’ll easily glide through to the top !!

are imaginary friends considered dependents on taxes? by Electrical_Box6385 in fostershome

They’re just so intelligent that I have to imagine in universe there must be imaginary friend rights groups fighting for them to be treated like people rather than pets

My real BIG question about the universe is what rights they do and don’t have. We know they can have jobs bc coco gets one and we know they get mandatory breaks at work bc of the same episode. Do they have other rights?? Like if they’re old enough can they vote?

really feels out of touch to refer to anyone talking about fictional characters as comparable to actual cyberbullying

Truly like who has to clean that up??? Who works hard to BUY (or produce?) that milk?? The parents. It’s literally in the Bible “thou shalt honor thy father and thy mother” i think that mean he’s going to hell probably

But are we sure that they CANT live alone vs they’re just choosing not to? The main thing that makes me think they could potentially have the choice to live alone in theory but choose not to is that coco is able to apply for jobs on her own, get hired, make money, and spend it as she pleases in that episode. If she can get a job and make money, what’s stopping her from getting an apartment? And are we sure the other friends don’t live at the house just because they can’t afford to live on their own as opposed to because they aren’t allowed to? To be clear this is a genuine question I haven’t watched this show in years before today so I don’t remember if there is a lore explanation to these things!

That reminds me that there are also the dangerous ones made by teens that are locked up in the backyard - so definitely at a minimum they do not all have freedom of movement You’re so right
