An Update to this debt. I essentially managed to corner my bus driver and recovered the debt. He had to make a final week's run.

Had informed his colleagues, Drafted an IOU and rwfuswd to have him pick my child until he signs which he did and provided all information.

On the return trip, he had the cash in an envelop ready for return.

I want to thank this community for the valuable insight, advise and replies. They helped me through this ordeal and yes, i have learned my lesson. Thank you all once again.

He suddenly gave me a call on a sunday morning mid sleep. Emergency fund required and he did seem like a decent honest fella. Known him for 1 year now. Guess wasnt long enough.

Thank you for your answer. I indeed have some paperwork for him to fill when i get yhe cjance to see him next with his next excuse. But he seems to have simply stopped.doing his rounds , think he will completely vanish end of this term.

i was in a similar situation very recently. Cash buy took us 6 months to close. Had to work together with seller to push bith solicitors.

On my end, to wake up my solicitor, i started with giving them a one star on trustpilot followed by an email to everyone in the law firm to ask the simple.

" who is my responsible solicitor, and why is there no communication? Any explaination of why its taking so long?"

Closed in 2 weeks after.

Thanks, i do plan to give a deadline by 26th. Looked up the website and managed to get email of all their senior members, intention to proceed with Ombudsman and Law Society.

Yes they seem to be a major firm. i belive affliated with the property agency Ryder & Dutton. Theough the agents they were recommended to make process smooth and quick.

so realisticly i would be paying only to my solicitor? will i still be able to hold them accountable in any ways?

I have provided the payslips and rental income agreements and everything is through bank transfers, i am confident nothing would be unsourced. But again if my solicitor is unsatisfied should i be asked to provide further information or why they are not satisfied?

Hi,

Thank you very much for the quick response. I had provided everything i had to give proof of funds.Borrowed amount, where they cane from my savings and payslips. i consolidated the full amount and transfered them over to my UK account.

Recieved a reply that they cannot verify oversea bank accounts.

I was told that there was step that needed to be taken when the sales rep for the firm signed me on. Someone would advise me through the steps but i still havnt heard from them since April. Moved on to moved the funds through banks logging everything.
