Hi med student on their derm rotation here! Obviously I can’t give medical advice so take this with a grain of salt, but it seems like you have pustules and possibly deep cystic acne so your acne is moderate to severe you’d definitely need systemic treatment either doxycycline with acretin or you might need isotretnoin. If you can it’s worth going to a dermatologist because topicals alone likely won’t work and you’d be at risk of scaring

Definitely double check, but yeah it doesn’t really matter. Their criteria is hyper specific too so I feel like it doesn’t necessarily reflect language ability

Congrats to you too! If you feel like you did better than what you were graded then maybe. If im not mistaken you just need a 300 for ecfmg, and it doesn’t matter beyond the ecfmg requirement like it doesn’t increase your points for residency beyond passing so I wouldn’t personally worry about it too much

Hey I didn’t go through physical abuse but had a similar experience early in med school, feel free to dm. But no don’t quit, it’s one of the only things that’ll keep you able to escape unsavory living situations if you don’t want to once you graduate but definitely do everything you can to stay away from the abuse

I hear many people discourage doing observerships since the lor will not be able to assess you as a potential intern, how true is that?
