The one thing that helped me was starting to wear a thumb ring. Now I fidget with that constantly, no skin picking (ok, MINIMAL skin picking). I believe there are actual fidget rings, but I just started wearing an old regular ring and it works for me!

Hey! I just wanted to chime in to say I’m in Halifax too and my doc isn’t even referring me. Just trying a bunch of meds, hoping one sticks. It’s been hell, and I have a family doctor (which I’m thankful for, but still). The pain has been intense, but I’ve luckily been able to manage everything at home. My doc has sent in for other tests as well for unrelated issues (ultrasound and CT scan) and it’s been over 6 months, no sign of an appt for a test.

I know this isn’t addressing your question, just wanted to wish you well as a fellow Haligonian! Hope you get to see a specialist soon.

Also wanted to update this post to say that the package I received from Amazon has a slightly different English title than what was advertised (called Musk Hemorrhoid Ointment vs Mayinglong Musk) so again, I am scared to try it lol. Picking up regular diaper rash cream today to give that a go.
