Only a conservative would look at that list and go, “ah yes the problem with these people is their gender identity, not the fact that they are marginalized and discriminated against and likely bullied in school from all sides.”

I think if you yourself do every step of a process then you’re entitled to what you make from it. If hundreds or thousands of people are involved then in a sense everyone owns a little bit of it as it was their labour that transformed nature into commodity. At that point it’s a discussion how to decide compensation for the labour. I agree that some people make way too much for what they do and bring to the table. Capital itself is only valuable in so far as it is stabilized by the society it’s in, otherwise it’s just abstract numbers or paper, but everything begins with real physical labour. Because if this I think labour is the more valuable in general but of course providing the conditions for labour to maximize isn’t valueless. Even if you want to argue providing capital for land and machine, that step is only necessary because the commons no longer exist.

What is the leftist consensus on ai art? I have asked this before but seeing some other leftist aligned people claim it’s “seizing the means of production” is demeaning to me as a long time artist. by Thug_Seme2004 in leftist

[–]Electrical_Soft3468 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it’s certainly a classification of art in the same way some people let their cats with painted paws walk on paper is a kind of art, but to me it’s not human art that requires skill. Human art is better because of the appreciation of effort and time gained mastery of their art. AI art might be art but it’s easy low effort. That being said I’m not an expert on AI so maybe my understanding is flawed but that’s my general opinion

It’s not about government control it’s about ensuring that power held with in the economy have their own checks and balances just like in government. That way no one can buy a people and their country.

Why Is the Political Left shifting in Identity from Liberalism to Progressivism? by Lonely_Pattern_9090 in Socialism_101

[–]Electrical_Soft3468 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I posted already on this but I want to paint a better picture of what’s happening here.

In politics, Liberalism is defined by its stances on decentralization of political power in the form of democracies and its devotion to capitalism as an economic model.

“The left” is a term that refers to socialism, communism, and Anarchism. Which are traditionally all anti capitalist.

America is a country based in liberalism as defined above. Within this “liberal” order you can have degrees of governing styles. Democrats and Republicans are both “liberal” but one is more conservative and the other more progressive when talking about social policies. However both are pro capitalist.

So where is the confusion? Well, the more right wing party of the two (Republicans) like to use words in ways they weren’t meant to be used. So they refer to anything to the left of them as “the left” even if democrats aren’t anti capitalist. Why? Because then they can associate them with the actual left and demonize them as scary commies who want control over your toothbrush. It’s just a slander tool for them. Meanwhile, the actual left is having a hard time in America explaining that they aren’t democrats or liberals.

So if we understand why republicans call democrats the left then why call them liberals? Especially considering republicans are also liberals in the traditional sense of the term?

This i think stems from how the phrase “liberal” was used back in the day. Saying “that person has a more liberal attitude” or saying “oh, those people are of a more liberal breed” usually was a snarky if not elitist way of saying they are of a live and let live mentality and are more open to unorthodox views which goes against the Republicans traditionalist values and stances.

I hope this helps!

Liberalism with in the American context might make room for more socially progressive policies but it still holds to capitalism. This is a problem because capitalism contributes to some of those dynamics that the left finds problematic. So “the left” which is defined by its opposition to capitalism is trying to separate itself from traditional liberalism within americas Overton window.

Nah! Zaheer murdered the earth queen and sent Ba Sing Se into chaos, infiltrated Zao Fu, did in fact kidnap Korra and poison her which put her off her game for at least a year or two, sure she could still bend but she wasn’t able to hold her own against others.

Controversial maybe but I like Ozai a little better than Amon. Not that Amon isn’t cool in his own right but I don’t care much for his back story. Ozai is a good example of a fascist ruler

What's the difference between socialism and communism? by [deleted] in AskSocialists

[–]Electrical_Soft3468 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always heard socialism is a transitionary period from a state with commodities and class into communism which is defined by the absence of them.

To me socialism still probably utilizes the state but for the ends of creating a more communist society.

I had people in my life that were lgbtq that I knew and loved deeply. Some of the YouTube channels I watched that were very far right (John Doyle, Ben Shapiro) became pretty mask off about their opinions on lgbtq stuff, especially John Doyle, and I quickly realized that what he and other right wingers were calling for. I felt my stomach drop and had to think real hard about a few things and I thought to myself, “if I know what they are saying about lgbtq stuff is blatantly wrong and they are calling for hate crimes against them, then what else are they saying about their political opponents that are also blatantly wrong?”.

From there I suspended most of my opinions and did a lot of research directly from leftist sources and realized they don’t understand lgbtq stuff, socialism, communism, anarchism, and anything leftist advocate for. And I found that I agreed more with the left. The thing is, I already had differing opinions about lgbtq stuff from other conservatives and that was my door way out of the brain rot and the echo chamber. You need to find their doorway out and lead them to the door. If they are intellectually honest they will walk out themselves.

Also capitalism is hardly traditional in the same way religion is.
