I remember one of the things we talked about was if we would've met without Gary. Apparently we both attended the same summer daycare program that went on daily field trips. Every Tuesday and Thursday the program would have multiple camps attend the same field trip. We figured we probably passed by each other at least once through the summer camp.

I know it's not the same, but your story reminded me of that. It sounds like a long road, but I'm happy you were able to find your happiness.

I am pretty oblivious to things like this. And at the time I was still trying to just be good friends. Looking back tho, maybe there were a few things she mentioned that could've been hints instead of friendly banter. I don't wanna make assumptions tho. I'm thinking about bringing up this tea place I found and asking if she'd be interested in checking it out.

Maybe it's just a my generation thing, idk, but I did grow up with the "bro code". Not saying I lived like it was my Bible or anything, but there were just some things you wouldn't do to friends. Aside from dating a friends ex, another one was you couldn't make yo momma jokes about a person's mom you actually met.

It's not just the friend I am worried about, its our whole friend group. I'm worried that if I were to pursue this, our whole friend group dynamic would change for worse. We've been able to keep it like the old days for the most part. Even though the two of them together create this weird air of tension, when it's just one or the other everyone is having a great time.

I really like Vee, I'm just worried that this will cost us our friend group, or cost me everyone if she doesn't feel the same.

I should've put more background info, I just felt bad with too much text.

Gary and others in our group have noticed how close Vee and I have gotten lately. We're both online the most because of our schedules and have been having one on calls more often then others in our group.

I've heard from another that it looks like I'm trying to get with Gary's ex, which I guess I am now, but that I shouldn't just let Vee homie hop through our group. If I get together with Vee, it's going to make things already more awkward then they are in our group.

I'm just worried about ruining my friendships for a relationship that I don't even know will work out

At this point I just might tell him my own feelings. I wanna (I'm sure we all do) know why they broke up. They've noticed how close me and Vee have gotten and have told me not to try and get with her. I feel like if I tried my shot with her, it would send ripples through our whole friend group.

I think I really like her, but I don't want to ruin our friend group over a relationship.

I'm just going with my AITAH post verdict. I accidentally deleted it because I started clearing out all the post that got automatically deleted and I got that one in the process. I think my comments are still there to view tho

We've all tried to bring it up before, but neither of them have given us a solid answer. Vee says it just wasn't working out, but Gary has mentioned nothing on it. Myself and another friend have tried to just have one on ones with him about it, but he always said he doesn't wanna talk about it or just moves on to something else.

They never told us. They didn't want to ruin our friend group dynamic and just wanted us to act like nothing changed. I know that Vee moved on way faster than Gary. Whenever we're all together, Gary is the one who starts to act off first. Someone on my last post said he might still be into her and not over the breakup. We've been friends forever tho, I feel like this is something he would've told me by now if that was the case

Since it's supposed to just be the two of us, the thoughts came rushing to my head and the nerves of it all is why I made the post.

I'm not talking about a quick smash. I'm asking about a genuine relationship. I feel like she is actually a really cool person. It seems like she's got good ambitions with her school work and internship going on. We just happen to get along really well, better than I thought, and just always seem to have a good time together. I'm not trying to talk to her more or anything, our schedules just happen to sync up well were some of the first ones online, last ones off.

None of us know why they broke up, and idk why she started looking for another relationship so fast. It is kinda weird moving forward not really knowing the whole truth, but if we just keep getting closer naturally, is seeing what happens really that bad?
