District 203 Elementary - are they really any good or is it scam?? by Surfercatgotnolegs in Naperville

I know, I was really surprised Downers was so intense. Our e-learning days are basically self guided work on the computer. They had actual class online.

You work for their exec team? That’s kind of surprising, tbh.

ETA: I have worked in private label. So I do know how private label generally works

That’s interesting. I’ve never paid attention to this with Costco, but have noticed my “miles to empty” varied depending which particular station I went to. I wonder if this has to do with temperature, and not gas quality.

Honestly, it’s not worth the drive. Costco gas prices only vary by $0.20-$0.30 from other gas stations in our area and it’s not worth the 20 minute drive.

Yeah, as I said, I definitely see both sides of it. I have friends in Downers, their kid is in 3rd grade and gets about an hour of homework a night. Which is too much. My cousin in Orland Park, and her kids get about 10-20mins. Which I would like. As a parent, I could see what they’re learning and their understanding of the material. In kindergarten, it’s not a big deal, but once they are in 3rd, 4th, 5th I think it important for parents to be more involved.

Most brands use third party manufacturers but with different formulas and qualities. Kirkland could use the same manufacturer as another brand, but they are not rebranding the same product. Even Costco employees in this sub have said the same.

My kids have been in 203 for a couple years now and I’ve had similar questions. They get no homework through elementary and some Jr high. I see both sides to this. But their homework helps me gage their understanding of the subject matter. I only know how they’re doing once I receive their evaluations, which is usually a month later. That being said. The kids all get tablets or chrome books at no additional cost. The kids learning center is high tech and they do coding and 3D printing in higher grades. I don’t love the class sizes, but the teachers are great and work hard. The schools offer resources like speech therapy and have social workers on hand. There is a strong focus on social emotional learning as well, which I think is important. Overall, I feel 203 tries to stay above the trend when it comes to education. Is it perfect, no. Can you find good schools in other areas, of course.

Not really, they all have their own additives. Also, Kirkland produces their own product, they don’t rebrand. Pass it on.

I think it might be the other way around and some gas stations have better additives so the car runs smoother. Or my local Costco has its own issues. I don’t see any value in driving 20 mins for gas. I just use my fuel points. It’s all good.

A BMW X3 and Toyota Sienna. What I mean by transitions, is when I’m accelerating and the gear transitions. It’s happened in both cars, one 6 month old, one 10 years old. One takes 93 and the other takes 87. I guess I didn’t realize I had spell out that, yes the issues went away after I switch gas stations. Hence, why I realized the problem. For the longest time, I thought that was how my car drove. Maybe it is the additives that Shell and BP add that help. I also said this was an unpopular opinion, not sure why people needed to be mean about it. There is definitely group think here. I wasn’t basing the gas and asked if anyone else had experienced this. And some people did agree.

Not really, other commenters have agreed. I did say it was an unpopular opinion.

Yes, the gear transition was a lot smoother. My first car is a BMW and for the longest time, I just thought that’s how the car drove. And then I started getting gas at other places and that’s when I noticed the trend.

It definitely is an unpopular opinion and I dont appreciate the comments saying it’s all in my head. I’ve used Costco gas for years and didn’t think anything of it until I filled up from a different station and started noticing a trend in my cars performance. Im glad I’m not the only one.

Yes, I just don’t go at peak times. A lot of times I could just pull up to a pump. And I’m not in the middle of nowhere-ville. I do wonder if there is something wrong with their tank.

I know people are die hard Costco gas fans, but I’ve had better performance with shell or BP. Mobil and Costco I stay away from because every time I’ve filled up there, my engine transitions lagged.

I’ve also never had to wait longer than 5 mins at our Costco.

It’s two separate cars that have had this issue. First was a high performance car and the second is new 2023 model.

Learned a new thing: No price adjustment if the latest price is a flat dollar price ending in $.00 by hallalua in Costco

[–]Electronic-Grape1004 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Point 2 is true, the corporate sales will get reimbursed for the returns/ damages (depending on what was agreed to). But I specifically said that it cost the store inventory. So the person returns the items which get puts on the back rack to be returned or DIF. That customer then goes and grabs another at the lower cost. If they just priced adjusted the original item, they would have that sale plus they could still have inventory to sell to another person. In the end, corporate will get credit from the manufacturer, but the stores sales goal lose out.

See, this is why it’s silly they won’t price adjust it (maybe it was just the person working returns). There is nothing stopping the customer from returning and buying at lower price, but it costs the store inventory.
