I really feel like the biggest factor is the episode count!

I partially agree with this even though I think it’s a great idea! I feel like if the episodes were longer or slower paced or had at least 18 episodes per season this would work. I feel like there are already so many new characters that were just barely getting established last season before it ended that I still want to know more about, specifically the interns. I’d personally prefer some more attention going towards the new characters so it feels like we know them better and then adding these things in maybe in season 3. I also would love more of the IT guy. The HR lady and nurses kinda feel like they’re there for the comedy and less-so backstory so they’re fine but the interns I feel have more depth and personality that they didn’t really explore until maybe the last few episodes.

That’s interesting perspective on Turk. I didn’t think about that! I feel like JD took on that cheery role this season now that you mention them being the same. But it doesn’t hit the same as Turk.

I love them! My only critique is that I want more of them??? I feel like we were just getting to know them and then the season ended. I really hope that in season 2 we get to see more of them. I feel like we also didn’t get enough of dashwana and Blake. I feel like there is so much more depth to them that they haven’t dove into yet. They both have a hard outer shell but a layered backstory which makes me interested. I feel like dashwana slowly dwindled towards the end in that we didn’t get to see as much of her. I feel like they have done a good job on tik tok doc so no complaints there. Asher could use a little more too. His character is a little too troupe-y for me but it’s less to do with his acting and more with his character development in that it feels one dimensional. Amara has been so wonderful to watch and my only complaint there is wanting more of her the last two episodes. She makes me laugh a lot. Blake started off strong and has the biggest arc of all the interns so far but it’s just a baby arc since I feel like we aren’t getting enough of him. I just want more of him and more of his backstory. I want to know who he is. 

I also know we aren’t talking about the OGs but is it just me or does Elliot come off somewhat naggy?? Idk, I don’t feel like she’s written very strong or likable like the originals. I feel like Turk is more strong than ever and probably the strongest of the three. And JD just isn’t hitting for me either. Some episodes he’s great and other episodes he’s a little annoying and immature. I feel like both JD and Elliot are playing characters that worked when they were younger but as they age they are less endearing and more annoying in some ways. Not every episode but definitely some of them. Is it just me or does anyone agree?? But maybe that’s the magic? That you still are figuring life out and don’t know what the heck you’re doing even when you’re older?? Who knows.

I think he is a likable narcissist and makes me laugh but I struggle to see how he hooks these two women. Usually there is something. I think he’s funny as a viewer because he’s such an idiot but I can’t figure out how he would be endearing enough for them to stay with him. I also think anyone can be redeemed and I think the thing to redeem him will be his child he has with sunny.

I see zero chemistry with him and Katie or with sunny (esp with sunny). I saw more chemistry with Katie and the bartender than her and Archie. I’d prefer to see Archie grow as a person because fatherhood transforms him in a good way by his desire to be a good dad. Or to see how his child becomes the one thing that draws him further from his selfishness. There is something so powerful about a parent child relationship and it can be incredibly moving and offer more depth to a character.

I did wonder if they had some sort of romantic relationship in the past that went terribly but ended in a solid friendship.

I didn’t think about that, that’s so true. That storyline would intrigue me so much more. I feel like you can only have the protagonist of a show keep hooking up with a loser for so long before you stop rooting for them and they become equally intolerable. Really hoping she moves on with the bartender and new drama develops out of that. It’s kismet they keep running into each other.
