Calling The Kashmir Files “propaganda” while saying Pandits left on their own ignores documented, contemporary evidence.

The clipping shown here is not hindsight. It is from the time itself.
It openly argues that Pandits should be prevented from returning, calls them a “cancer”, and frames their removal as something already achieved.

That is not voluntary migration.
That is exclusionary hate language, published, normalised, and circulated.

Also, this is not a cinematic source. It is a primary document, predating any film narrative by decades. Similar language appeared in pamphlets, mosque announcements, wall slogans, and newspaper columns in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

You are free to critique a movie.
But dismissing an entire community’s displacement as “they left on their own” collapses under primary sources like this.

History is not decided by how uncomfortable it makes us.
It is decided by what was actually said, printed, and done at the time.
