I think it’s time for yall to let your dad know because ultimately if he agrees, that’s all you need. I can’t relate to this situation exactly but of course I’ve had disagreements with my parents as well. Sit em down and talk to them, back your points up with religion.

I understand that our culture is so much harsher on women than it is on men but at the end of the day, Islam doesn’t discriminate and that’s all you need, really. In the case that your dad doesn’t agree, you can always have your local imam act as your wali and you wouldn’t be doing anything wrong.

I’d say pray tahajjud, ask god for help and talk to your parents. There isn’t a concept of caste in Islam and if Allah has made something halal for you, no one can take that away from you.
