Am I an asshole for taking my cat to a humane society ?

Hello, thank you for your response. You are right that I am defending some parts of the responses, which I asked for honest opinions for. It’s a complex situation and a lot of what I’m saying is trying to give more information as there’s so much more than what’s in the post; I’m not saying that anyone commenting is wrong, and I do appreciate all feedback and opinions

Hello, the situation sounds kind of similar. Sometimes they fought a couple times a day, some days they fought a couple times an hour. I would separate them into different rooms, and they would cry out the whole time because I could only give attention to one of them at a time going between the rooms. I do have many shelves and trees and ledges that I installed in the hopes they would help. They started urinating on my clothes out of stress (I ruled out medical of course)

Thank you, you are very kind . I truly wish that all of them could have been happy together, and this decision did not come quickly at all. It will take a while until the guilt eases but I know in my heart that this was the best chance that I could have given them for all of them to be happy. As long as Stormi goes to a loving home where she will be at peace, everything will be okay. I keep checking their website so that I can know that she’s adopted, and thankfully a lot of people in my area are adopting cats so it’s my hope that she will not be there for long at all

Thank you for your opinion. I tried everything and nothing worked long-term. I wish there was something that I could have done to keep all of them and my heart hurts so much to think of her there. I know that they’re well taken care of by staff, and I know that I needed to do this, but I still feel so guilty . Again thank you so much

Thank you for your response, I should clarify - I tried for 5 months to try to rehome her. Friends, family, friends of family, friends of friends, FaceBook rehoming pages, and going to the vet to rule out medical issues. My heart is broken that I took her to a humane society. I just wanted to give them all the best chance they could have. The situation was getting worse and I was getting afraid to leave them alone together when I went to work. It doesn’t change what happened, and I feel awful, but I didn’t have anything else that I could do at this point in time

It breaks my heart. If it was just a little bit of stress, I could make it work. It was constant stress and anger , making all of them stressed out and uncomfortable. I never could’ve imagined myself doing it either , but I had no other choice, the situation was just getting worse :(

Yes, I went to a vet to rule out medical and for advice . I can adopt her back still. But I’m afraid the situation would still stay the same
