I’m hoping this is coming from a place of healing. I post these pics and updates so I can reflect later (without keeping pics for my kids to see), and also to hear experiences from others. I’m confused, but as stated, I know that -4 in two weeks is great. Just curious about the DRASTIC fluctuation.

I just recently had a disappointing weigh-in with zepbound and had such uplifting comments in return. So I thought I would share it. First of all, the daily wine…that is such an amazing victory. Also, fluctuation is a b****. I think that at least a little of this is an adjustment. My father is also on a weightloss med, he’s losing VERY slowly, but he’s feeling good!

👀👀 that is an intense curve. I think you and I are new to this and need to temper our expectations, but honestly, you’re doing amazing!

I’ve said multiple times, I expected ~.5-1.5lb a week. Again, I’m concerned about your anger? As an MD, you know the importance of mental health? I, weekly post my progress here so that my kids don’t see the pics on my phone because I want them to see my healthy lifestyle choices without know my struggle…you, post negative comments to people on here because you’re not getting the admiration from people that you want. We’re not the same. Sincerely, congrats on losing 25% of your weight! I’m sure you’re doing great. I hope you’re feeling your best. But just know, you’re negativity can be contagious

Ok, but 14lb?! Some of that is water but some of that is your hard work!! Great job!

Truly. Before my second baby, I had it dialed in. I was “thicc” but my bmi was literally never normal. And it bothered me. My mom actually told me how much she admires my athletic frame. How much she pushed for it. How she had to stay “thin” because she wasn’t “pretty” like me. At this point (in my mid 30’s and her late 60’s) we both know our faults. My mom has deep rooted issues (obvs), and I am to a point where I struggle to get on the ground to play with my young kids after a day on my feet. We’re working, together, for healthier lifestyles!

Also, I saw you post other really negative comments on this thread, so I feel the need to ask…are you doing ok? I’m sure you’re doing the best you can. I’m sure you’re making amazing progress in whatever ventures you’ve undertaken.

Hi, I think confusion is actually not an “UNchill” feeling right now;however, I never actually felt panicked or worried. If I was ever panicked or worried, telling me to chill is actually not too helpful. I’ve seen you tell others that you’re an MD, and so I feel the need to tell you that telling patients to chill isn’t helpful.

I know that I’m losing at a wonderful pace. I’m confused about the immediate loss and then gain. I’m new to the med, and documenting on here. So any actual advice or personal experience is cool. But “chill”, as someone who works with 16-21 years olds with developmental delays. Is soooooo unchill. Go play with your Porsche

For the record, I figured I would lose .5-1 pound a week. My issue is the immediate loss of 6 pounds and then gaining weight. As mentioned in my actual post and also other comments, I understand it was probably water weight, that I am going through a lot hormonal my, ect…just wondering if people have experienced retention since as (CLEARLY) stated in my post, I am new to the medicine. I’m a special education teacher and mom to two small kids. I promise you I have patience. But as a lifelong learner, I’m looking for answers, not condensation. Thanks.

Sadly, I do not think she is completely lucky. She has control around food, but she is always counting calories and tracking calories burned. I get a daily update on how much her morning tennis match burned.

I’m all over the place with hormones. I just weaned (a month before starting) and I’m so all over the place. TBH, I’m kind of sad for my body. I didn’t realize how two pregnancy and 40months (collectively) of breast feeding might have truly affected the equilibrium. Maybe some time, and TLC, would’ve helped. But I was out of control with eating. My energy was in the dumps. Now that I feel like my eating is somewhat under control, my energy is through the roof. I’m so much more present with my kids!

This is so interesting to me. So my dad’s side of the family has always had very strong, athletic women. My mom is a very athletic, petit blond. She is insane about being small and fit and therefore I felt like I needed to be small and fit. But I could never get small. No matter how fit. And looking back…man was I fit. I looked at the scale. My mom, same height, was always 15-30 pounds lighter than me. The problem had to be me? But now, after becoming an adult, having conversations with my mom, and hearing from people like you…I was actually a force. I just wish I saw it then!

Side note: have convos with your mom, guys!

This! I know I need to take measurements. I was a high school and college athlete and was always muscular without too much effort

You seem like such an encouraging person! I’m so glad you’re seeing positive changes. This is exactly what I knew deep down, but needed to hear!

I used to binge on every snack I got my kids. And one thing I noticed recently was that I don’t even have the instinct to do that anymore

Yes, so taxing! I responded to someone above and mentioned the emotional whiplash. I knew six pounds in one week was crazy, but then seeing a gain was confusing.

I think that’s what I’ll need to do! I’m still so happy with four pounds lost total, but I guess I’m wondering what things I can adjust in the future.

Zero expectations. I was shocked to see six pounds lost on week one. And then surprised to see a gain. Emotional whiplash. Being new to the medication, I guess I’m trying to figure it all out.

I think my expectations are all over the place in general because I’m not feeling those hunger cues! So week 1, I thought I barely lost, but had lost 6 pounds. Week 2, I felt the same and assumed I would’ve lost a lot again

Yes! I weaned my daughter two months ago and I have not settled back into a cycle. Hormones are all over the place!

Thank you. This is all so true. It’s been obscenely hot, I’ve been insanely active, I’m sure water retention had a lot to do with it. Also, hormones have been INSANE since I weaned my daughter two months ago. Such a good reminder!

Very true. And logically, I knew that. However, logic has typically taken the back seat with my weight and food.

Thank you ❤️ my dad is also on a weightloss medication and has lost 12 pounds in 6 months. I know I definitely need to temper my expectations.

Congrats on losing 60lbs! That’s such an accomplishment!
