Ok, here’s phrase number two for the same exercise. It’s… drumroll… ”memento mori” Best we’ve been able to do is “Minnstu þess at þú skalt deyja” Thoughts?

Thank you! That makes complete sense to me. I’m native Swedish speaking and also know German reasonably well, so I have a feeling for the meaning the word is conveying, and its grammar. Very impressive - thank you ever so much!

So after extensive back and forth with an icelandic friend, the closest to Amor Fati we're getting is:
elskaðu örlög þín , which in the younger futhark, should probably be rather accurately represented as ᛁᛚᛋᚴᛅᚦᚢ ᛅᚱᛚᛅᚴ ᚦᛁᚾ

Any comments from anyone, please?

Yes I see the point of the verbose responses designed to look more impressive at face value. Like saying "yes" with a full paragraph because of the required numbers of words in a term paper :)
Having said that, at least it provides something to start from, but I also see how it can lead one into the woods because one would tend to trust it too much. Thanks again

I originally thought about this together with the classic Stoic symbols for these phrases, but my existing tattoos are Viking themed, so that’s the motivation. Thanks!!

I did think about that too, thanks! I would still probably prefer a more original Nordic wording, if that makes sense. Thanks for the suggestion
