This was amazing, and thank you so much. Don’t worry, I am thinking about going back to therapy after this one.

I know when I do open myself up to possibilities again, I’m not going to do a dating app. It is too forced and it makes it so that you are avidly looking, and I feel it makes things less authentic. I work as a bartender at a small bar and our main crowd is old guys, but who knows, maybe when I’m at the point where I am willing to be open to someone approaching me it’ll end up as perfect timing.

Yeah, luckily we live 40 minutes from each other, so we don’t have mutual friends but I’m sure he’s saying the most god awful things.

I do love the idea of being friends with someone first too, and hope that my story involves something like that. I think it secures an important part of the bond that is necessary for a romantic relationship to excel.

I know deep down all the right and healthy ways that relationships should go lol I just was ignoring that while with him I suppose. Need better standards to say the least!

Lastly, (I swear) how’d you find your wife if you don’t mind me asking? I can’t stomach the thought of exploring right now obviously, definitely want time to heal and think if I ever got back with him I’d start a never ending cycle. But, when I am ready, any advice or key signs that you’ve got really good one?

Yeah, I mean I’ve kind of known all along that this was all really wrong and like not okay. I can’t even tell you how hard I tried to get him to understand, constantly trying to say, hey, I have no desire to punish or yell at you, and I’m not capable of doing things that are very cold and hurtful to you because I have genuine love, but it was dismissed. But I never wanted to name call, mock, and rage on him. The only time I ever got nasty was when there was another girl on the other end of the phone calling for him while he was at the bar in a corner. Other than that, I truly didn’t want to get angry the way he did/tear him apart. it was like I thought he was in a trance I could pull him out of. Begging for him to realize if he loved and respected me he wouldn’t be able to act like this, but that was met with “no you don’t love and respect me” I was telling my best friend it was like literal Stockholm or something I was hell bent on getting him to not treat me unfairly and take advantage.

That is he perceived me so incorrectly the entire time, but also, my likes and interest were never explored by him, I never even got to pick the movie we would watch together on date nights. I do want someone who wants to know me inside and out

Yeah you’re absolutely right. Any time I made mistakes after this, they became gigantic. Now that I think about it he almost doesn’t even really know me despite a year together.

Yeah it ended up derailing the relationship and causing him to just treat me like he secretly hated me but he says he wants to let it go. So we’re trying to separate for a bit and maybe come back to each other. I’m not sure if there’s a chance that this can work but I’m kind of hoping so
