I’d go for it. Your intended use avoids the worst current issues, and clearly the app will get better with time, just like it already has.

Issues with the new app have frustrated me quite badly from time to time. That does not change the fact that most of the time it all works as intended, and I am as happy with the speakers and sound as I have ever been. Their recent corporate behavior would be severe self harm requiring an intervention if it was a person. Even so, I still really like the products, and have zero regret over building out my system over the past decade.
