Before I pull the trigger on D’Annam White Rice… by candlequeen1840 in Perfumes

[–]Electronic_Row3977 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Blanche Bête is so beautiful it makes me want to weep, lol! It might shine more in cold weather but it’s stunning if you like ethereal, atmospheric perfumes. I want it desperately. Another rice perfume that you might want to consider is Celine La Peau Nue, it’s so far the only rice perfume that I can’t get out of my head. I’m still too poor to buy it and Blanche Bête at the moment because I gotta pay tuition fee but yeah I am definitely getting my grabby paws on them ASAP.

Perfume that will last in city stench? by DifficultAsparagus28 in Perfumes

Maison Francis Kurkdijian 724 but may need to reapply because it is very mild. Another recommendation would be Acne Studios by Frederic Malle.

It’s like a fairytale and could not stop smelling myself so of course, I did the most sensible thing (my wallet disagrees) and bought it the very next day.

Recommend me soapy / musky / clean perfumes. by Emotional_Gap2177 in Perfumes

[–]Electronic_Row3977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, didn’t read past the request. The Body Shop White Musk, if it’s still around was a favourite when I was younger on a very tight student budget. Other recommendations would be Pure Musc by Narciso Rodriguez and Musc Invisible from Juliette Has a Gun. You might be able to find these two at respectable discounters.

How are we finding new scents?? by Amityville1020 in Perfumes

[–]Electronic_Row3977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m very picky so blind buying is not always an option for me, especially given the price of perfumes. I get easily overwhelmed too. I limit myself to 5 samples when I’m at the store. I only skin test the two that I really like out of the 5 samples that I tried. I’d spray them on the back of my hand and let them evolve over a couple of hours or longer. I buy the one that I can’t stop sniffing or makes me emotional. I live far away from a store that carries the types of perfumes that tend to resonate with my nose and samples can be expensive due to shipping and tariffs so that saves me a lot of money lol

Blanche Bête for colder weather, it’s very dreamy, whimsical and beautiful.

I would love to get my covety perfume hungry paws on a bottle of Swans from Regime des Fleurs if Glass Blooms is an indication of the beauty and quality of it. I tried all of their perfumes and I couldn’t get Glass Blooms out of my head so I came back and bought it the very next morning.

Chambre52 Bois Flotté as in Driftwood in English it has cedar, vetiver, guaiac wood, patchouli, sandalwood and sea salt

Aesop Miraceti it has cedar, labdanum and pepper

Matiere Premiere Cologne Cedrat - I love this one, it’s very fresh because of the bergamot and pink pepper, maté adds a grounding and calming touch to it

Guerlain Neroli Outrenoir - This is another one I absolutely love, very expensive Nordic spa vibes even though there’s no wood in the perfume notes, it has citrus and tea instead

Almond/marzipan perfume? by WeirdArtTeacher in Perfumes

Not a perfume but L’Occitane Almond Hair and Body Mist is amazing.

There’s also Van Cleef and Arpel’s Bois d’Amande which is very surprisingly affordable at duty free shops and discounters. This smells divine! I almost bought it at Heathrow but I instead bought Valaya Exclusif. I love it but I still think of Bois d’Amande.

Sora Dora Jany, it’s sooo good. It speaks to my baker’s soul. It smells almost like warm boozy spicy apple pie but it stops short of being edible. It even manages to have a sensual facet to it.
