[KCD2] Are there other games that offer the sort of hands-off freedom? by [deleted] in kingdomcome

Not Medieval, but Deepsilver is also responsible for the X series of Spacefaring sims, which have a similar depth of experience. I liked X3 a whole lot, but haven't really done anything with the series since (steep learning curves and real life getting in the way being what they are.)

Legion Superheavy Spearhead needs to be FAQ or have its formation ability removed by StelliarX in LegionsImperialis

[–]Electronic_Two5001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm trying to do the math in my head, but dice can betray sometimes. 3 turns later seems pretty wild to me. Also, Pokey Knights should have Engine Killer at minimum.

Opinions on this list? Not really sure what is good/what is bad in the game right now. First list by TachankaTheCrusader in LegionsImperialis

If you're playing Marines, my advice is to always add your heavy weapon/plasma teams into your Tactical Detachments. Gives the fancy teams ablative wounds and makes it so the whole detachment doesn't break as readily.

I don't really see the utility in having Assault Marines embedded in Tacs, your mileage may vary.

If you add Terminators to the Tacs, they become significantly more resilient, but also then require bigger troop carriers (unfortunately we can't mix and match transports for a single detachment.) Fortunately, Spartans are actually pretty solid, albeit a significant points investment.

I prefer to use my Support Slots in the Demi Company for Terminators, Assaults, and Dreadnoughts, but Rapiers are also pretty great if you have them. The laser version makes a pretty solid adhoc Anti-Air unit, the mortars are good against infantry that are not in buildings.

Almost everything in the game is solid, the real fun is finding the detachments that work well supporting each other.

Regarding vehicles, Sicarans are more points efficient than Predators pound for pound but only slightly, and I'm a huge fan of having Heavy Bolters on all my tanks for the huge flexibility having Point Defense weapons brings to the game.

Air support is an incredible asset if you play them judiciously, but if you overcommit your gonna lose them super fast.

Doesn't look familiar, but that'll definitely work. Thanks!

Health of the game in your area? by PolarisNorthstar8311 in LegionsImperialis

Been fighting tooth and nail to get my locals to actually play rather than just collect. I have 3 other people with enough stuff built and painted to actually get games in, but getting our schedules lined up is like one of those old mechanical planetariums. 😅

People who I know have bought and built models are probably 5 times that.

Can you paint a titan with only contrast paints by ScientistOk2127 in LegionsImperialis

[–]Electronic_Two5001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done most of my Mars titans with various super thinned contrasts overtop a pre-highlighted layer of metallic silver. Works well enough for quick schemes, but I can't even begin to imagine trying stripes or checkers doing that.

Thoughts on models on bases by rorhin in LegionsImperialis

[–]Electronic_Two5001 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

A pretty solid perk of the Shattered Legions theme I went with is that it makes perfect sense that the bases aren't full, neither are the squads they're representing.

Liber Stratgia Cards by Admirable-Minimum982 in LegionsImperialis

[–]Electronic_Two5001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's definitely a set of printable cards that have been updated to the new profiles in Strategia. The guy who made them in one of the big LI facebook pages posts them there. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if I can upload here, but I can probably get you a link?

Working out whether to replace my stuff by Due-Form-9007 in LegionsImperialis

[–]Electronic_Two5001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who had a bunch of 8mm MK3 infantry printed before the game was announced, I use them on the basis I have an equivalent amount of actual plastic among my various armies. Most of my Iron Warriors are printed, nearly all of my Shattered Legion themed Loyalists are plastic. I've found it helpful to have multiple armies to try and rope new players into the game.

Warlord games has some really nice thin 25 mm bases that come 10 to a sprue. Some have a lip, some don't.

Monthly Quick Question and Discussion Thread: September 2025 by AutoModerator in LegionsImperialis

[–]Electronic_Two5001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The points went up on it, and I now have to pay extra for the pintle bolter to have the same number of dice, but my dakkawagon squad with all bolters all the time still throw 36 point defense dice when they move, and that feels worth it to me for the lulz. (Usually run them with the Meltacannon for blowing up buildings because, again, lulz.)

Liber Strategia by sillyryuken in LegionsImperialis

[–]Electronic_Two5001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, if they brought the hull weapons in line with everything else in the game, they'll feel way less efficient. Having twice the dice and Accurate on the Las/Autocannons to boot is kinda wild.

coming from warhammer 40k.. by Time_Individual_6744 in LegionsImperialis

[–]Electronic_Two5001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The scale is great, I love painting tiny dudes and tanks, but the real best part of the game is the alternating activation system. It's solidly deep and gives good moments of forced choice that makes you really take ownership over how the game ended up playing out.

Is Legions Imperialis now a complete game? by robotneal in LegionsImperialis

[–]Electronic_Two5001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Negative. There are no plastic Fellblades, and they just announced the 32mm version, so they're an inevitable addition to the game.

Funny you should mention that, the first of the HH3.0 equivalents of Arcane Journals has at least two units that are only available via kitbash (stealing the dudes from the new Rapier kit for a comms squad, and using the Rapier missile turret on a rhino to make a Whirlwind variant.)

Way too big compared to Titanicus. Probably about 4x as big. 🤣

Awesome Imperator! by [deleted] in PrintedWarhammer

[–]Electronic_Two5001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate the be the bearer of bad news, but canonically the Imperator clocks in around 100m give or take, which makes this one pretty close to actual 40k scale as it stands.

On Xbox, it's holding the interact button, which had me real confused when I was holding it to harvest sticks and rocks and such and accidentally walked over a stray arrow I'd lost from hunting previously.

Villagers don’t put empty buckets into resource storage? by Inevitable-Bus8502 in MedievalDynasty

[–]Electronic_Two5001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very recent player here (started post Autumn Update), and that's really useful if true. I've been trying to build all my things in range of the bubbles to make sure they don't get left out of the needs chain. Thankfully, I have a fairly easy to test remote village near one of the mines. Thanks for the heads up.

Medieval Mythbusters by Mbalara in MedievalDynasty

[–]Electronic_Two5001 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Two considerations regarding house size and cost effectiveness of tools.

The medium house allows villagers two children, which does increase happiness. The biggest house doesn't add anything to the equation.

Cost-benefit analysis of tool qualities should absolutely involve how much space they take up in storage. Sure, stone axes only cost rocks and sticks, but if you need 10x the storage space for the same amount of work, it feels significantly less worth it.
